Henry L Milligan, 82, died on October 30, 2026. Born in Alabama on July 4, 1944, Henry carried forward a steady sense of purpose throughout a long life shaped by work, service, and care for others. He was a resident of San Diego, California.
Henry joined the United States Navy in 1960 and served for 20 years as a boiler technician. In that demanding role, his strong work ethic and reliability were evident in the daily discipline of service. After retiring from the Navy, Henry continued to work with the same quiet diligence, including employment as a janitor at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
In 1983, Henry met Delia when they were neighbors, and love blossomed. They married in 1984 and built a family rooted in devotion and everyday kindness. He was the proud father of two children, Andrew and Dolly, and was blessed with six grandchildren.
Henry’s generosity and compassionate nature were felt most in the simple ways he showed up for the people around him. He found enjoyment in the familiar pleasures of time well spent—visiting Sycuan Casino, playing bingo, and sharing games of dominoes with friends. He also liked watching sports, especially college football and wrestling, appreciating the spirit of competition and the camaraderie it brought.
Henry will be remembered with respect for a life defined by service, hard work, and a kind heart.
