Ida was such a kind hearted person. Ida and I worked as case clerks for the law firm Miller Starr and Regalia. She basically trained me to do all duties especially when she was going to retire. She also gave me recipes for adobo and pancett with chicken or pork. I will always think fondly as I remember my friend Ida. I will pray for the comfort of her family in such a sad time. Dear Lord, welcome Ida into your loving arms. Until we meet again in Jesus name amen. 

I worked with Ida at Miller Starr.  She was absolutely a wonderful person.  She had a great smile.  I enjoyed talking to her quite a bit, and I am saddened by the family's loss.

Please accept my condolences.  I met Ida when I started at Miller Starr in 1989 and worked with her until she retired.  What an amazing woman.  She was filled with infectious laughter, love and joy.  I have loved seeing her enjoy her retirement and post pictures of all her travels and her beautiful grandchildren.  My heart grieves. I am so sorry to hear of Ida’s passing.  I went on her Facebook page today to wish her a happy birthday and saw that she had passed away and it made me so sad.  I worked with Ida for many years at Miller Starr Regalia.  She was such a phenomenal worker, friend and confidante.  I hadn’t seen her in quite some time but loved communicating with her on Facebook.  I was thrilled that in her retirement she was able to spend time both in southern California and the Philippines.  My condolences to her family.  I know how much she was loved.  I will miss her.

Ida ~ a loyal Notre Damean:  was an active member of the Notre Dame of Gen.Santos City Alumni Assoc, International. And a loyal and true Notre Damean in thoughts, words, and in deed.

Ida ~ the thoughtful friend: Our friendship blossomed in 2008 when a few Notre Dameans gathered in Northern California for a weekend getaway to the Napa Wine Country.  Ida was one of the attendees. From then on, Ida and I came to know each other, and for me, it was very special.

Ida ~ the kind person: When Ida heard that I was going home to the Philippines via Manila in 2016, she offered to house me in her beautiful home in the Philippines. Unfortunately, that trip was canceled.

Ida ~ a beautiful person: Ida was a fun-loving lady, kind, full of laughter, and a very generous person. You could count on her generosity in any cause, especially sponsoring the Damean Mentors, so they could attend the reunion(s).  My last meeting with her was at the reunion in Seattle, Washington in 2019.  She was honored as one of the recipients of the Teacher’s Award at the Gala Night.

Ida ~ a lovable, unforgettable lady:  Ida, you are so loved.  You are our pride and joy.  However, God has an ultimate wonderful plan for you, and no one ever questions God’s beautiful plan.  HE told me, that you are far better at being in paradise with HIM. Although I will miss you deeply, I am happy for you.

    I didn’t realize our last goodbye was Thanksgiving of 2020 with your Estrada family.  I still couldn’t believe you have passed on. Let me honor you briefly, my dearest Auntie Ida, your life well-lived.
     Words cannot capture the fullness of Auntie Ida’s life. She has been such a great wife, mother, coworker, a friend and would have been an awesome great-grandmother, but, best of all, my aunt. I am so thankful to God for being her niece for she treated me and my siblings as her own kids. I will always remember the nickname “Boljak” you called me and Uncle Pol, you have that sense of humor that I can never forget. You encouraged me to live wisely and acted as my second mom and always there for me to lean on for advice when I got married, had children, and when I experienced that life-altering moment. You believed that I can move on further and do great things. I will miss your sweet voice, your loving smelling kisses when we hug each other, and the many things you love to do. 
I will never forget all the fun memories we spent strolling at the Serramonte mall in Daly City. We would shop, dine out, and go on and do more window shopping and tell endless stories, you would say “damo ako gyud nga istorya” =)  And how you love to capture each of them and take pictures so that you can share them with family and friends back home!  I was fortunate to have spent the last one with you in 2016. I will always remember your signature dish your tasty ‘mechado’ that I absolutely adore. All our wonderful memories you left us with you are now everlasting. They meant even more now and will live on forever in our hearts. It will be hard to go on without you for the coming days since you are not here anymore, some will bring happy memory, and some will be sad. I am deeply saddened by your passing Manang Ida but knowing you are now in the hands of our almighty creator where no more pain and suffering is enough comfort.  I remember way back 2016 when I stayed at your home in Villa Carolina, we three talked and you told Manong Pol  "Amo ni akon baby sang una."  I am very grateful for your love Manang Ida, for taking good care of me when I was little. Until I got married you were there. I, Inday and the children are very grateful for your help. I still can't help but cry everytime I remember you're not here with us anymore. I will always cherish my memories with you Manang. May you rest in grace and love of our Creator.  I love you Manang Ida. Till we meet again. 

We will surely miss you Manang Ida. You were the first family friend I called when i moved here in Washington State. I had fun  listening to your memories with my tatay and mama when you were with them in Polomolok. You were the first family friend i shared the birth of Victoria. Thank you for sharing with us your place in Mandaluyong and spending the night in Villa Carolina. I will miss your post on fb.You were very generous and thoughtful. I bet you and my parents are having a good conversation right now. Thank you for the memories. Until we meet again.Godspeed!

Rest In Peace my beautiful Auntie Ida. I will miss you so much. I’m so very thankful that I got the chance to visit you during my first trip to the US. You were such a kind and generous person. I will never forget your visits to the Philippines at Christmas time, when you brought so many presents for everyone! You are like mom’s twin sister and in many ways you are a mother to me too. I’m also very sad you won’t get to attend my wedding. We will be sure to raise a toast to you on that day. Thank you for everything, Auntie Ida. I will surely miss you. My heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family of Ida. I have known her at the last Notre Damean reunion and since then had a few  interesting and enjoyable chats with her. Ida was a very nice person, sincere and enjoyed the short time we were together in Seattle. She loved horses too she said and shared her good times at the races here at Golden Gate Fields.

I became acquainted with Tita Ida in one of the reunions of Notre Dame alumni in USA. She was very motherly — always had that ready smile for everyone. Never heard her complain despite our hectic schedules during the reunion. She was always on the go. Each time we part ways, we exchanged hugs promising each other to be at the next reunion. Am going to miss you, Tita Ida! Rest now in God’s eternal peace. 

Condolence to loved ones , friends and families of Ma’am Ida . She was so lovely , very mestiza , eyes twinkling , like always joyful and looked so sweet. She was in Norte Dame College in Dadiangas , her sis Myrna , seen together always . They lived next door to me , fronting the college . Her sisters Jean and Julie lived in our home , Julie was my classmate too. May you rest in the peace of the Lord and in His everlasting presence , forever with the holy angels and saints , praises and worship to the Almighty Father , Son and Holy Spirit , before the Throne of Grace , singing Hallelujah , glory to the Lamb , without ceasing unto eternity . Hope we gather together in endless joy and peace , in Jesus mighty Name . Amen.

Ida Combatir Estrada was a distant cousin, but more like a doting older sister to me. She was born on April 26, 1948, in Molo, Iloilo City, Philippines.  Her family moved to Wao, Lanao Del Sur.  When her father died, her mother moved the whole family to South Cotabato, Philippines.   Ida and her older sister  Myrna were inseparable.   I heard a lot about these two cousins while I was growing up,  but I did not meet them until they were Juniors at Notre Dame of Dadiangas College(NDDC now a University).  They were both student leaders, consistently on the Dean's list, and dubbed the "beauty and brains"  on campus.   Ida graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1969.  She and Myrna taught third-grade classes at the NDDC Elementary  Department.  
Ida met her husband Apolo, an accountant when he was assigned in General Santos City.  They got married.  Eventually, they moved to the United States.  We lost contact until 1999, when our Notre Dame Alumni Association (NDGSCAA)  held a National Reunion in San Francisco, not far from Pacifica, where Ida and her family lived.  From that time on, Ida was a regular attendee at these reunions. The last she attended was in Seattle, Washington in May 2019.  We spent a week together on an Alaska Cruise.
Ida will be remembered for her happy disposition, leadership, winning smiles, and most of all generosity.  At every reunion, it is her standard procedure to offer any alumna in need of a hotel room to be her roommate.  During the Alaska Cruise, one fellow alumna needed someone to share a berth - she openly offered hers.  She always sponsors a page for our Souvenir Program because proceeds from the program help to sponsor the religious mentors so they could attend the reunion. Her generosity is endless!
She was so looking forward to the NDGSCAA 2021 Boston Reunion but due to COVID-19, it was canceled.  She will be sorely missed by her fellow alumni. We love you Manang Ida.

 

Lola Ida, we are sad because you left us too soon. We were praying hard for God to heal you and recover. We hoped to see you when this pandemic is over. 
We miss how you throw coins for us to pick during our family reunions. It is so much fun to look at, it is like rain of blessings that you shower us to enjoy. The house always felt going down because of great noise of laughter at teasing among us. 
Thank you for loving us Lola Ida. We will never forget you and your sweet smile.

I can still remember those days Lola when you're going home in Polomolok with Lola Jean and Lola Myrna ya'll usually stay in our house with my mom Agnes and you always brings us with all of my cousins from Combatir's side some chocolates, blouses, dress and you also gives us money and because of those things you make us happy from those sweet token of yours. You always compliment me that I'm beautiful and the last compliment I received from you from the last time you're here in Polomolok is you said that I'm beautiful and I already lose weight because I was chubby the last time you saw me. I thought and expect that you can still sleep in our house when you go home again in Polomolok but unexpectedly I heard the news that you are already gone. Im shocked and I remembered all the sweet memories and talks we've shared, all your comments in my facebook posts and I will never forget how wonderful of a person you are to me. I wish I still have the time to talk to you before you leave us but I will just pray now that you are in the safe hands of God and you are free from all the pain you've suffered in this world. TRIBUTE TO MY DEAR SISTER

We are here today, to celebrate the life of IDA COMBATIR ESTRADA and to say goodbye to a wonderful woman.
I'm Myrna Combatir Kara-an the sister of IDA COMBATIR ESTRADA - (RIP).
I would like to thank you all for viewing virtually  to mourn the loss of IDA with me and her family.
Eversince we're young, Ida and I were close to each other. Everyone knows we're inseparable, others think we're "twins". We shared our dreams, our plans, even our secrets too.
As kids, we lived together, we fought, we laughed, we cried but still, we loved each other and shared our love with our family too.
I'm so lucky to have you as my sister because you did so many things for us, your siblings and our relatives. You're so kind, generous and when someone in need of your help, they could always count on you.
Now that you're gone, we have all your memories of your picture in frame as a keepsake for us and never be forgotten. We all have you in our hearts forever. We love you! So long and farewell my dearest sister.
May the Lord grant you eternal rest in his kingdom.

We miss you Auntie Ida...Losing you is hard,  for you were like a mother to us, your nieces and nephews. You loved each one of us uniquely.

Your "pasalubong" is always thoughtfully and specially picked for each of us. It is your love language...your way of saying you love us and we have special place in your heart. Your love and thoughtfulness can't be overlooked.

I admire you for being instrumental in uniting our families and relatives who live far so we don't drift apart, through hosting the yearly family reunion. It is your legacy.

I thank God to have been given the chance to talked to you and saw you happy one last time in a video call, when Auntie Jean had her new phone. You were able to talk and see Aunt Jean more often in a video call. You were so happy then. You had the biggest smile. I treasure that memory.  I hope I made you happy, Auntie. 

May you rest in peace with Lola Taba, Lolo Francisco, and Kuya Neil. I love you Auntie Ida!

Tita Ida ❤ She is Mama's BFF, our neighbor in a subdivision where I grew up in Philippines, "Ninang" to my sisters (Grace & Malou), treats us like the daughters she never had, and really like our second mother.

March 2019, she came back in San Diego for their yearly vacay. We had lunch and reminisce my childhood days, wayback when life was more simpler. Even when their family migrated to the U.S., we always look forward to our Christmas reunions. Our families have always been part of each other's lives and will always be. Constantly, it was Tita Ida and Mama's friendship who taught and modeled what it means to be a good friend and how friends turned into family.

Tita Ida will be truly missed and will always be remembered.

We'll miss you dearest sister.  It's sad that I won't be able to see you anymore.  Our family reunion every December will never be the same without you. We're always praying for your soul.  Until we meet again, sister.  We love you very much. 

Our prayers of comfor for Uncle Pol Estrada and the whole family. We will sorely missed Auntie Ida and her inspiring stories. We are so grateful for Auntie Ida's thoughts every time she visits GenSan. She would tell us stories about how she and her siblings survived college (just like what daddy Eddie usually tells us) and with that we draw inspiration and pride.  Though, we haven't seen her much often but we are happy because she actively sends FB comments that warm our hearts. Rest in peace Auntie Ida. 😍😥😭🙏

Forever in our hearts auntie Ida. Thank you for your loving memories. Although I was very young when you left for US, mom always tell me that whenever she was away for work, you will be there to comfort and take care of us, when I was still a baby because you have baby Aldrin also at that time, we would share the same milk. You would always  give thoughtful presents for everyone come Christmas time. Gatherings will never be the same without your presence. Rest in God's hands now. Please watch over us from above. We are going to miss you.
