Iluminada Tagle Romen

On December 7, 2025, our mom, lluminada Tagle Romen (96), surrounded by her family, made her journey to reunite with our dad, Cenon Romen, in heaven. We are saddened by our loss, but take comfort in knowing that she is surrounded by God's love.

Iluminada, known by family and friends as Luming, was born in the Philippines in September 1929 to Paulo and Anastacia Tagle. She was the youngest of five children. She married her high school sweetheart and eventually travelled to the United States, where he was stationed with the Navy in New York. There, they started their family. They also lived in Hawaii and Virginia, eventually settling down in San Diego, California. In each place, they made many friends, spending time with all their families. Sharing food was always a major highlight.

luminada was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, but continued to live to take care of her family, which she continued to do to the very end. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Most of all, she just wanted to spend time with her family and friends, whether it be on a cruise ship or at home.

She is survived by her children, Romel (Marisa) and Lenny, her granddaughter, Jaylynn (Kyle), and an older sister, Concepcion. She was "mom" to many nieces and nephews, always praying for their well-being.

We miss her dearly. Our hearts are broken. She never wanted a fuss. She wanted simple.

Please, when you think of her, just say a little prayer.
