James Douglas Patch

In 1981 he was married to Melinda Guthrie at First United Methodist Church in Chula Vista, CA. They have three children.

James received his BS degree from California State University Dominguez Hills. James was an engineer for Lockheed Martin. He was an active volunteer for Scouts BSA and he was Scoutmaster for Troop 151. He was also a dedicated Order of the Arrow member. James was especially proud of his completion of Wood Badge Course WE4-49-08. James was a faithful donor at the San Diego Blood Bank where he accumulated 65 gallons of donations over the years.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Melinda; a daughter Jennifer Liang and her husband Michael of Carlsbad; a daughter Stephanie Hamblin and her husband Jon of Chula Vista; and a son Michael of Chula Vista. He also leaves behind his three granddaughters; Isla, Claire, and Naomi, who were the light of his life. He is survived by his brother Warren and his wife Natalie of Ocean Beach, CA and his sister Kathy of Chula Vista, CA. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Warren and Helen, sister Patricia, and brother David.

A private funeral service will take place on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 1:00 at Little Chapel of the Roses, Glen Abbey 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA. Graveside service will follow. Memorial gifts in Mr. Patch's memory can be made to the ALS Association of Greater San Diego, 9929 Hibert Street A, San Diego, CA 92131.
