Jean and I are 2nd cousins.  We met through Ancestry.com when I came across a post she had written looking for anyone with a connection to Philipp Hoelzlein.  After comparing notes we discovered that he was our common great grandfather.  Philipp had two wives, both named Bertha, something that Jean nor I was aware of prior to our encounter.  I am descended from the first wife and Jean the second.  Our DNA tests through Ancestry sealed the deal.  My wife Kathy, daughter Deborah and I got to meet Jean, brother Warren and his wife Kathy when we visited California later that year.  Jean and I kept in touch via email and would share the new discoveries that we had found in our family trees.  I was recently contacted by a gentleman in Germany who is related to Philipp's mother and tried to share the news with Jean only to get no response from her.  I checked her Ancestry account and noticed she hadn't logged in for over 3 months.  An online query led me to this sight.  I will miss her wonderful sense of humor and cherish the time that we got to meet in person.

Jean was my cousin and as children Uncle Warren would bring the family and visit...all the kids were good...Jean was always a sweet child...My wife Susan always kept in touch with Jean. When family moved to CA we didn't see them but jean and the family have always been in our prayers...we will see you again one day and renew our relationships with our loved ones...RIP sweet Jean...Denny, Sue and family.

Remembering my "sis"in-law. A proud New Yorker...I remember with fondness the times I would sit around Mom and Dad Larberg's dining table while they would share their New York family memories.  She took delight in being able to buy New York goodies on-line...she loved the New York cheesecake.  Jean loved crafting and I was fortunate to be on the receiving end of some of those crafts. We shared an interest in genealogy and would often chat about what we discovered through our journey.  Her life journey is now complete but she will remain with us in our cherished memories.

Tom, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom.  Nothing can replace a Mother but I hope the comfort of knowing that she is at peace and painfree will help you while you go through the grieiving process.  She is home now and one day you will be reunited with your Mom.   Love Barbara

I am going to miss my NY / California  friend we spent many long nights chatting  we talked about german food  her family her favorite dog  and of course growing up in Glendale she will be missed  but no more pain may she rest in peace.

Jean is a cousin to my husband. His grandmother was Louisa Larberg,   younger sister to William, Jean's great grandfather.  We met on Ancestry and  added Facebook.   We also had Glendale,  PS 91.  My Mom Gert Menken went to school with her dad Warren.  They lived a few houses apart across 69th  street. I have the class picture.    We never met.  We had long discussions about family,  All Faiths cemetery (where many of my family are also buried)  The Christ  Methodist church that has stained glass for  Anna Larberg.  My daughter and I visited there and sent Jean pics.   We shared. 
We are miles apart  Cal to FL, but we had a connection.  Jean will be missed.  My heart goes out to her family.
