Jesus Sandoval Corona was born January 6th, 1937 in the town of Chiquilistlan Jalisco in Mexico to Clemente and Juana Corona. Jesus sadly lost his father at the young age of 5, when his father tragically died after falling off a horse. As the fourth of 6 children, Jesus was forced to grow up without a father for the majority of his childhood. Luckily for Jesus, he had his Uncle Valente and Aunt Lola nearby who helped his mother Juana raise him. Jesus was forever grateful to them for all of their help, and he cared for them dearly.
In 1952, at the young age of 15 Jesus left the small town of Chiquilistlan to pursue a better life for himself in the United States. He began as a field worker, picking grapes and pears in the Napa Valley, as well as working in the canneries of Sacramento packing various fruits and vegetables. Jesus was a man of many skills working several laborer type jobs to help ends meet, until he was fortunate enough to land a job as an Operating Engineer working for Nelson and Sloan in San Diego. Jesus spent 29 years working for Nelson and Sloan, retiring from the company in 1998 at the age of 61.
Jesus married his wife and childhood sweetheart of 55 years, Josefina in 1961. They had 5 children together (Carlos, Silvia, Clemente, Ofelia, and Jesus Jr.). In his retirement years Jesus lovingly spent his time with his children, grandchildren (Joseph, Desiree, Crystal, Ariana, Monica, Alicia, Douglas, and Nicolas) and great grandchildren (Landyn, Logan, and Lakelynn). Jesus was a loving son, husband, and father, who put his family first above all other things. Jesus
