

It is with a heavy heart we announce the death of our Father and Grandfather Captain Jimmy (Jim) Neal Glover. Jim went to join our Lord peacefully in his sleep on September 29th, 2022.
Jim was born on December 10th, 1936, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to C.J. and Nettie Glover. Jim grew up in Gurdon Arkansas where he worked at the local movie theatre as a teenager.
Jim joined the US Navy in 1955, where he served for 36 years. Throughout his Navy career he continued his education at the University of Hawaii from 1959-1961, the Naval Post-Graduate School, from 1972 – 1974. Jim flew helicopters for the Navy and retired as a Captain. He also flew in the Vietnam war where he received many medals, including a Purple Heart, Flying cross with one gold star, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Medal with Bronze Wings, Meritorious Unit Citation and the Navy Expeditionary Medal.
Gurdon Arkansas is also where he met the love of his life, Ruth. They were Married in 1956 in Curtis, Arkansas. Ruth and Jim started their family in 1957 when they were blessed with twin boys. In 1965 their 3rd son arrived. Jim and Ruth were married for 63 years.
Jim was proceeded in death by his parents CJ and Nettie Glover, Brothers Gene Glover, Wayne Glover, and Jay Glover. His beloved wife Ruth and his youngest son Mathew Allen Glover.
He is survived by two twin sons, James Anthony Glover and his wife Penny of El Cajon, CA and Timothy Michael Glover and his wife Lori of Chula Vista, CA, his grandchildren, Melinda Fair and her husband Shane of Chatsworth, Georgia and Karen Jackson and her husband Brandon also of Chatsworth, Georgia. He had 4 Great Grandsons, Talon and Kyler Fair, and Greyson and Dawson Jackson. 2 Sisters Mary and Bonnie, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Jim had a wonderful Navy career, but his family was most important to him. Jim was a loving husband, father, and Grandfather. His two Granddaughters Melinda and Karen were the apple of his eye. He was so proud of them both, and his eyes lit up anytime we mentioned their names.
Jim was a great light of strength and Love to us all. He will always be our hero. We all will miss his sense of humor, his kindness, generosity and all his stories. Until we meet again in heaven, Rest in Peace Captain Glover. You are loved forever.
A visitation for Jimmy will be held Monday, October 10, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902 in The Chapel of the Roses.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902 in The Chapel of the Roses.
A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902 in block 70.
