Joan was born in Roxbury, MA, where she married Joe Marshall and gave birth to Ronnie, John, Donna, Joanne, Marie and Kevin. She moved to Chula Vista, CA, in 1978 where she married John E. Hansen and became mother to John, Nancy, Karen, Tina, Pete and Jane and dedicated herself to taking care of her husband and family.
Joan loved the Lord, her family, music, bingo and a good game of dominos. She was a devout member of Most Precious Blood Parish and dedicated many years in service doing adoration in the midnight hours.
She was preceded by her son Ronnie, first Husband Joe Marshall, second husband John E. Hansen and 10 brothers and sisters.
Joan was a beloved mother, sister, “nana” and auntie. She is survived by her brother, 11 children, 22 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 10:00am Saturday December 22 at the Church of the Most Precious Blood. 1245 4th Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91911.
