Born on July 31, 1968 in Cubi Point Naval Hospital, Subic Bay Naval Base, Philippines. Came to the United States on her Father's PCS orders at age 2. Did not speak English but quickly changed after 3 months of watching Sesame Street. She completely forgot the Ilocano dialect, but make no mistake, she understood every single word.
A Navy brat, she attended several schools in Alameda and San Diego as well. Graduated high school in Naples, Italy as the class Valedictorian. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was a well traveled young lady. She visited Paris, France; Austria; Switzerland; Germany and London, England twice. For 3 years in a row, attended Christmas Eve Midnight Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, Italy.
Joanne Attended UCSD and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in General Biology. Soon after, she worked at several Bio Tech companies in La Jolla including a Chiropractic Clinic briefly.
She loved the outdoors and was active in sports like snowboarding, roller blading, biking, and ice skating. Took several trips to snowy places to brush up on her skills. She loved life in general and went out of her way to help with Meals on Wheels Program delivering food to the disabled living on their own. A very generous person with a genuine passion in helping the needy. A dollar every now and then to a homeless person she meets downtown made all the difference that soon she was on a first name basis with them.
She is survived by her Mother, Father and 3 sisters; Marizza Marie, Julie Jean and Marlene Angele. 4 Nephews; Brandon Michael, Jason Andres, Justin Andres and Ryan Anthony. 1 Niece; Reynalynn Esperanza.
Rest in peace Jo....We love you so much and we will miss you.....
