

Joaquin was raised with five siblings. He had three brothers, Simon, Isiah and Sefirino, and two sisters, Irene and Visitacion. Joaquin was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. They shared many special life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Joaquin had a fairly happy high school experience, making the critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Payo High School in Paginiban, Catanduanes.
On August of 1939 Joaquin exchanged wedding vows with Balbina F. Uchi in Tambognon, Viga, Catanduanes, Philippines. Empathic and loyal, Joaquin was committed to making his new family happy.
Joaquin worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Joaquin was blessed with six children, two sons, Rogelio and Jose, and four daughters, Conchita, Asuncion, Agnes, and Cristita.
Fortunately, Joaquin enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Joaquin worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was in mining. He was employed for 20 years by Atlantic Gulf Pacific Company. Joaquin always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Joaquin’s faith was very important to him, so he became involved with church organizations. He was President for the Catholic Action Association of Tambognon, Viga, Catanduanes, Philippines.
Sadly, Joaquin passed away on September 14, 2010 at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in National City, California. He is survived by Conchita and Manny Gullaba, Jose and Nimfa Valderrama, Agnes and Danilo Decena, Cristita and Felicisimo Tojon, Visitacion Valderrama, as well as many other family and friends. Services were held at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel on September 18, 2010. Joaquin was laid to rest in Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City, Philippines.
Simply stated, Joaquin was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a wonderful father to his children. As well as being a caring and giving person. He was a vital part of everyones lives. Joaquin leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Joaquin T. Valderrama.
