After all these years, you are still in my heart.  I miss our friendly ribbings.  How we used to kid each other about our roles as the kitchen help for the different organizations we belonged to.  I treasure each encounter we had.  Love and miss you, my friend.

I am so sad to read of Joe's passing. He was my vice principal at Emerson-Bandini my first 2 years of teaching. He was so incredibly supportive and set the bar high for my expectations for future administrators. He was from the old school, when teacher were appreciated and supported by their superiors. I was so fortunate to have known him and worked with him. Love and hugs to his family! "Don't be sad it's over, smile because it happened"

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Gama's passing.He was a positive light in our school. Mr. Gama, you would have been a great kindergarten teacher, though you always would say "kindergarten was not for me." You will be missed, but your presence at Bethune will be always be felt with love.

Joe Gama was a long time neighbor, friend and a truly outstanding human being. Of course, he was also a dedicated educator, totally committed to bringing out the very best of his school, students, fellow teachers and parents.

Joe was an organizer in the neighborhood, coaching kids, decorating the neighborhood with Christmas cheer and making some of the best pozole I've ever eaten. Through the years he offered great observations on our shared human condition, in politics, education, sports (yes, he was a super Chargers fan) and just about any other subject you could think of. 

Joe was curious, with a considerable intellect, and  could engage friend or foe in meaningful conversation that was always respectful, inclusive and not judgemental. I feel a great sadness that I won't be able to discuss the world with him again.
 
My family extends our deepest sympathy to Carmen, Joey and Carlos. Joe and you all will always be in our hearts and thoughts.

Our Elder has taken his journey into another dimension.  Safe travels may Creador provide your whole family with the peace and understanding to tolerate your transition to the spirit world.  Thank you for your patience, your words, your leadership, your care, your love, your acceptance but most of all thank you for always supporting and guiding us.  We are all better Men because of your leadership!

Mr. Gama was one of our honored elders in the Circulo de Hombres.  He provided all of us with good laughs, words of wisdom, and consoling hugs.  He was our teacher, uncle, and friend.  We will miss you dearly.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my cousin Joe. I have fond memories  of playing anything outside with his brothers and his one sister. He went on to be become a great education leader. He was so smart even way back then. My condolences and prayers  go out to Carmen,( his wife) and their children.My deepest sympathy to them all.

Joe was an amazing leader at the home we called Emerson-Bandini.  He made each one of us feel valued and an appreciated.  He had a loving smile and incredible warmth which he shared with every staff member, student, and families of our community.  My condolences to family, friends, and colleagues.  Con amor siempre....

Joe was a very unique individual.  His smile made you forget your trouble.  He was always there when you needed him.  I miss him and feel blessed to have known such a great guy.  My prayers are with his family.  Valerie

Mr. Gama was one of the most caring & dedicated Vice Principals who worked at Emerson-Bandini during my 10 years there. He supported students & teachers, all staff & parents, insuring the success & well-being of everyone.  He always had a smile & a kind word. My sincere condolences to the Gama Family.

Joe was a fellow classmate, Bulldog of Tracy High.  I knew of Joe and would see him on occasion when I attended a wrestling meet.  He was a all around good guy and will be missed by his fellow Bulldogs.  Wishing you blessings on your next journey.

Our condolences to the Gama family, I knew joe as a young man we met in high school an became good buddies. After high school we lost contact only to reconnect on Facebook some forty five years later. We had planned to get together when he visited the area, unfortunately that never happened. Joe in life excelled it was great to chat with him online and to reconnect after so many years. Rest In Peace my friend until we meet again.
