Jonie, I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing. I only found out about it in the NASSCO Shipbuilder. John was such a good friend and mentor to me during my early years at NASSCO. I'll always remember all the years we spent together coaching Jon Jon's little league teams. I was just looking at some of those team pictures the other night and thinking about what you guys were up to. He was one of the most giving individuals I have ever met and he will be missed by many. Jonie and family,
Even though I met John only six years ago, I have great memories of him, his family and friends. It was heart warming to see him get excited about finding a new plant, enjoying good food and his love for the grandsons. I will never forget his hospitality and genuineness.
for you...death leaves a heart ache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. my love and hugs to you all. Linda

I was so sorry to here of the loss of your John. My thoughts are with you and I was thinking back to the first time I met you when I was about 19 or 20 years old at Nestor. May deep healing come from the Father who loves you.

Heaven was missing an angel... may you rest in peace John Vetcher with my grandma Marie Moreno. He had a Heart of Gold, truly an exquisite man, husband, father, grandfather and friend! My deepest sympathy to his family and all who knew him.

Such a huge heart so well known by his close and personal friends, by his family through hard times as well as good, such a loving man to all who were blessed to know him, the laughter that reaches back 50+ years, such a unique sense of humor unequaled. Although I knew John as far back as high school, I missed the greater portion of his life until the last few years. And so Sandi and I were blessed to be invited in to share in his adventures. He was still the "same ole John" that I had known in school, and we picked up where we had left off like it was yesterday. Needless to say we are missing him and will never forget his love and companionship.
