After our home was burned in the 2007 southern California wildfires, Joyce and Ray were gracious in allowing us to stay with them for a while.  That's when I probably got to know her best.  Later she agreed to "adopt" me as a daughter since my mom has passed away two years earlier.  We had lots of interesting conversations, especially about the Bible.  One of the last fun things we did together was to eat at The Barbeque Pit.  Good times like that will be long remembered...and missed.  I often thanked her for raising Phyllis to be the best friend anyone could hope to have.

Dear Phyllis and Earl,  I was very saddened to hear that Aunt Joyce had passed away.  I believe that she lived a good life and will be happy in heaven.  I hope that my Uncle Ray, whom I have always thought very highly of, is doing well at this time.  I look forward to seeing you at the service.
