

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Judith Sutschek was no exception. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Judith will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Judith’s life journey began on July 21, 1940. She first greeted the world in Milwaukee Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her parents' names were Rudolph Alois and Adelaide Marie (DeGrace) Sutschek. She was raised with an older brother, Rudolph John Sutschek (deceased) and a younger brother named Francis Charles Sutschek.
Judith was a typical teenager who had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Mercy High School in 1958.
Judith married Richard Lawrence Flees on April 4, 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida. The couple was married from 1959 until 1970.
Judith was blessed with four children, Richard John Flees, Erik Joseph Flees, Kenneth Michael Flees, and Kristine Elizabeth Muglia. Judith worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. She raised her children in a positive and nurturing environment. Judith was later blessed with the gift of six grandchildren, Karen, Becky, Andrea, Lourie, Dina and Ty.
Later in life, Judith exchanged wedding vows with Paul Sunshine. After some time spent married, the two chose to go their separate ways.
Judith decided it would be best to continue her education by attending the University of California, San Diego earning a Certificate in Human Resources in 1994. She later received her Associates of Art (AA) from Southwestern College in 1995. Judith was an excellent student who was recognized for all her efforts. She was accepted into the Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Societies.
Judith enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, she worked diligently and did her best to succeed in each of her occupations. She entered the work force managing for the food industry. She worked for Denny’s from 1985- 1989 as the Assistant Manager where she earned the “Silver Spatula Award”, Harold’s New York Deli from 1989-1990 as the Manager, Carl’s Jr. from 1990-1992 as Assistant Manager and McDonald’s from 1992-1994 as Assistant Manager. In December of 2003 Judith began working for the South County Career Center as the Senior Case Manager. She continued her employment there until April of 2010.
Judith enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including traveling, spending time with family, and celebrating life.
Judith Sutschek left us on June 4, 2011. She passed away in Irvine, California due to Multiple Myeloma. She is survived by her children Richard (Paula) Flees, Erik (Joann) Flees, Ken Flees, Kristine (James) Muglia; her brother Frank (Lynn) Sutschek; her sister-in-law Sandy Sutschek; and her grandchildren Karen, Becky, Andrea, Lourie, Dina and Ty. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A funeral service was held at the Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel on June 10, 2011. Judith will laid to rest at various locations around the world, so she can continue to travel as much as she likes.
Judith was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. She leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Judith Sutschek touched will always remember her with a smile.
