Siento mucho por el dolor tan grande que deben estar sintiendo por la pérdida de su ser querido. Por eso les escribo, para que sepan que la Biblia da esperanza. A mi me han consolado las palabras en la escritura de Revelación o Apocalipsis 21:3, 4- Con eso, oí una voz fuerte desde el trono decir: “¡Mira! La tienda de Dios está con la humanidad, y él residirá con ellos, y ellos serán sus pueblos. Y Dios mismo estará con ellos.  Y limpiará toda lágrima de sus ojos, y la muerte no será más, ni existirá ya más lamento ni clamor ni dolor. Las cosas anteriores han pasado”.
Que maravilloso es saber que podrán disfrutar de estar con Julian otra vez. Pueden tener la seguridad de que nuestro Creador mediante nuestro Señor Jesuscristo lo cumplirá.

Uncle Julian is a neighbor back in Philippines.  However, he left our town for United States about ten years before I was born, and I didn't meet him in person until 2014.  I've been addressing him as 'Uncle'.  First moments I met Uncle were kinda awkward but funny and memorable. We were having a conversation inside the church-kitchen when our kitchen-in-charge lady asked me to cut veggies.  Anyway, Uncle showed me much efficient way; he cut small portions - I mean quick!.. then slowed down.  He continued to say to just keep it slow and we're not  in rush to prepare meal for a crowd.  And I was awed at what he showed me.   I realized later he diligently served in Washington D. C.  to many U.S. Presidents until he retired.  I am honored to have known him for that.  In November 2015, I did banner and backdrop projects for our 130th Church Anniversary  when I realized I am short of funding.  A church-mate hinted Uncle Julian.  So he handed me $60 to do our church seal and a 'flame and cross' prop (failed to accomplish this latter one).  The next morning, I have the seal for our event. I even told Uncle Julian and asked him along with Auntie Merian to post for a picture near the seal.  So Uncle's generosity led to get that seal done on time for that successful 130th Year event.   When Uncle's health deteriorated, I(just like others) got closer to him... but me spiritually.  We shared stories of our time  in uniform service - being him in the Navy who spent decades and me in the Army who spent fraction of what he did.  I got to share my aspirations, struggles, failures - unfortunately not my hope of redemption in the future.  He is as close as a father to me.   His presence serve as an enlightenment since I was grief-stricken the time I lost my real dad.  In a short period, I appreciated him filling-in the grandfather role to my 3 kids who never saw  their 2 real grandpas.  Uncle Julian is a God-written joyful character-story, and I thank our Creator I was given a part.

" For he's a jolly good fellow which nobody can deny", this song  defines him.  That is how I will always remember  Manong Julian.   He has a strong sense of humor and made everyone laugh whenever he was around.   He was also my friend on FB.  I will also remember how very   delicious were   his special menus. I had the opportunity to taste some of them. Above all I admire  his dedication,  together with his wife Merian,  in serving the Lord.  Sweet memories  about his legacy which death can't destroy  would always be remembered in our  hearts now and forever.  See you in the morning.

Sir Almonte Julian  we call  Kuya Julian has been a good friend and Kuya to a lot of National City United Methodist members and friends including me. Tho  I  just had a short time knowing him and his family, I had an oppotunity to serve him, to fellowship with him and his wife and family, go to Church with him and fun places; shopping mall, and that place that says "Welcome Home"...Sometimes it doesn't matter where we're  going, our trip going there is fun enough just telling us his jokes and notocing all the trees the flowers the mountains, the contructions along the way...He loves to share nice stories related to these places that makes him forget his late days confinements at home and rehab centers. I was lucky to be part of his late days encounters and a joy to be of service to kuya Julian in the name of Jesus. 
He looks at you in the eye and say, " how are you doing"....  Comusta? and he means it...not just passing...hello...converse and shares jokes and stories. with everyone after the Bible Studies and Church services.  He has to go down the Social Hall to say hello to everyone there and the Senior Adult ministry.
Above all he is a follower of Jesus who includes everyone. Always ready to offer help as needed not only to his family and friends but to the Church and its missions....like everyone mentioned his extravagant generousity and  radical hospitality. He is truly a follower of Jesus Christ. Surely, we wiil miss him dearly. He  is now Resting in Peace.

In the last two days I have come to learn that I have been privileged to have been befriended by a man among men in Julian Almonte.  In listening to the memories shared by Julian's family and friends it became clear to me Julian's life was well lived and an exceptional one to say the least.
Having known Julian only since their membership  at FUMCNC.  During that time I had the good fortune to play  several golf rounds in his company.  He quickly recognized the needs of my golf game were more than he could fix so he turned to God and  provided me with a 365 day daily devotional book titled, "Go For The Green" by Jeff Hopper, that also included golf tips.  He signed the book, " To Rev Ben, You're a friend" He knew prayer was the only thing that would help my game. 
Thank you for  your many messages of concern, love and inspiration.  I think of you each morning as I open your gift to read and reread, now in the second time through.  
May you Rest In Peace My Friend, a Man among Men.

Uncle Julian always call me, "Pastor, Pastor..." even though he knows I'm not a pastor... then he's going to tell me his adult jokes.  I remember all his volunteer works he'd done to serve the needy, and all the special events, bible studies, etc. So many fond memories of him with our family, he's so fun to be with. Zenas shares, less people now he does "mano" (forehead to hand) in church after service. We miss Uncle Julian already.

The Monton's are truly grateful for all you've done for us! We are blessed to have shared time with you and your family throughout the years. We will never forget the trip to the White House, King's Dominion, and just spending the weekend at your home. You will always stay in our hearts Ninong!

At church we tried to find Uncle julian, we thought he was lost.  A few moments later we saw him with a lottery ticket and he said, I didn’t get the jack pot. We thought we lost him.

We will always cherish the times we spent talking to Julian at Plaza Bonita.  He was friendly, cheerful and kind with lots of stories to share.
