Keiko Ikeda Sanz, age 90, passed away on September 21, 2026. Born on September 13, 1936, in Yokohama, Japan, Keiko’s life reflected courage, strength, and wisdom shaped by experience and her love for adventure. She will be remembered with deep respect and fondness for her enduring affection, smile, and humor by all who knew and loved her.
On July 24, 1959, Keiko married Edison in Sasebo, Japan. In 1960, they moved to the United States, beginning a new chapter that called for change, perseverance, and the hard work she so willingly gave. Together they built a family rooted in loyalty and steadfast love. Keiko carried the responsibilities of daily family life with resilience and a selfless spirit.
Keiko was the devoted mother of five children: Shirley, Marilyn, Edison Jr., Susan, and Raymund. She will be remembered for being the “life of the party” with her humorous storytelling and infectious laughter. Her favorite pastimes were with her walking group, going to the casino, traveling, cooking for her children’s friends and teachers, and our family celebrations. Keiko loved all types of food especially chocolate and hamburger with fries. Keiko was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Edison, survived by her five children, and her two daughter-n-laws Beth (Edison Jr.) and Yesenia (Raymund).
