Kitz was born on July 15th, 1948, in Manila, Philippines to Raymundo and Teodora Garcia. She was the fourth of eight siblings, Rosario, Raymundo Jr., Nenita, Margarita, Paulina, Juanito, and Emma. She was married to Jun Reyes and had 2 children, Mylene and Marvin. She moved to San Diego in her 30's and was employed for 37 years at City College. Her favorite pursuits were traveling, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends. After her retirement in 2021, she continued to volunteer at the San Diego airport and the San Diego Zoo. She also worked at the cruise terminal for fun. Faith was also very important to Kitz. She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Kitz is survived by her children, Mylene, Marvin and wife Joann, grandson Ethan, and her siblings. In addition to her immediate family, she remains an extraordinary tita (aunt) and lola (grandma) and a very dear friend to many.
To say Kitz will be missed is an incredible understatement. No words could ever capture how much she meant to so many or how we could ever articulate all the lives she touched. She will forever remain in the hearts of all of those who were blessed enough to know her.
For visitation, funeral, and committal services, please see below for details (under 'Services'). There will be a reception after the funeral on 7/27, Thursday, from 2 to 4 pm, at Sweetwater Woman's Club, 3855 Sweetwater Rd, Bonita, CA 91902.
Please feel free to share any memories (photos, videos) you have with Kitz on this page. For questions, please text 858-735-6414 (Mai).
Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Kitz and her family.
