Leonila Vicente Quitoriano, 97, passed away on October 20, 2026. Born on July 4, 1929, Leonila was a cherished presence to all who had the privilege of knowing her. A resident of Chula Vista, California, she will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection.
Leonila shared 76 years of marriage with her husband, Luis. Together they found joy in simple, lasting pleasures, including evenings of ballroom dancing that reflected the warmth and steadiness of their life side by side. She was the proud mother of seven children and a devoted grandmother to thirteen grandchildren, as well as nine great-grandchildren—each one a part of the legacy she nurtured with patient care and a generous heart.
Leonila’s kindness was evident in the way she welcomed others and made them feel at ease. Naturally social and genuinely interested in people, she had a gift for connection—offering conversation, laughter, and a gentle spirit that drew family, friends, and neighbors close.
She also found happiness in the everyday rhythms of life: time spent in the garden, the enjoyment of going to the casino, and the comfort she brought to others through her cooking. Her meals were more than nourishment; they were an expression of love, thoughtfulness, and the quiet generosity that defined her.
Leonila gave her time and energy to the community with steady dedication. She was very involved with the PTA and with the Cabugao and Caoayan association here in San Diego, offering support and participation in ways that strengthened the bonds of community and belonging.
Leonila will be remembered as beloved, gentle, and giving—someone whose presence brought comfort, whose care was freely offered, and whose life leaves a lasting imprint on the many hearts she touched.
