Lester Mark Van Nest

Lester Mark Van Nest was born May 1, 1931 in Los Angeles, California. His parents were Cornelius Isaac Van Nest and Lillian LaVerne Palglase. He had three siblings Bill Van Nest, Neal Van Nest, and Violet Brown. Lester graduated from Leuzinger High School on June 16, 1949 and El Camino College on June 13, 1952 with an Associate in Arts degree. He married Helen Marie O’Connor on June 14, 1958. Helen and Lester adopted Marie Teresa Van Nest in 1963 and Mark Ambrose Van Nest in 1965. He had a 39 year career in the aerospace industry as an electrical engineer before retiring. Some of his favorite hobbies included bowling, fishing, and camping. Additionally, he enjoyed travel by taking family vacations and cruises. He was involved in many church functions, activities, and was a Knight in the 4th degree with the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his children Marie T. Rossi, Mark A. Van Nest and grand children Crystal Van Nest, Nikki Ramsey-Rivera, Amanda Rossi, Shon Van Nest, Dustin Van Nest, and great grand children Helena and Jace Rivera.
