She grew up in a small town in Illinois called Antioch then attended and graduated from Loyola University in Chicago majoring in Spanish. Then in a bold move, she traveled to Mexico for one of the great adventures of her life where she lived for twelve years. There she married and gave birth to her two daughters, Lourdes and Michelle. Though she returned to the United States, Mexico remained her happy place.
In these later years, she had a career in social services with the County of San Diego. In twenty plus years, she found deep satisfaction in that work and lasting friendships with her coworkers.
Linda’s death came unexpectedly after a brief illness. She passed February 3, 2023 at the Kaiser Zion Hospital in San Diego with her daughter, Michelle, at her side.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Diane and her grandson, Seth.
She is survived by her brother, John and his wife Lori from Minnesota, and her daughters, Lourdes and Michelle, and son in law Jon, from Spring Valley along with her nieces and nephews, family, friends, and coworkers who loved her dearly.
