Liwayway Pastelero Zulueta-Reyes, age 56, of Chula Vista, California passed away on Friday August 24, 2018 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Liwayway was born December 20, 1961 to Maria P. Zulueta and Godofredo P. Zulueta in Morong, Bataan, Philippines. Liwayway or Lily, had a Master of Science in Nursing and served as Director of Restorative Care and Nursing at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center's Birch Patrick Convalescent Center for 25 years. She was a registered nurse for 36 years. Beyond her career in nursing, she played an active role in the community through the Sharp Lends a Hand Campaign, Mater Dei Catholic Church, and for the Fil-Am Charitable Organization of San Diego. Throughout her life, it was evident that she was an extraordinary person, bringing joy and compassion to the many lives she encountered, through all her selfless actions. She is survived by: her husband, Arnold Reyes; her quintuplets: Gerard, Adele, Audrey, Gilbert, and Garner; four brothers, and two sisters.
A visitation and celebration of life for Liwayway will be held Friday, September 7, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Mater Dei Catholic Church, 1571 Magdalena Avenue, Chula Vista, CA 91921. An interment will occur Saturday, September 8, 2018, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A burial will occur at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California 91902.
