Lolita was born on March 15, 1950, in Naguillian, LaUnion, Philippines. She was the eighth of ten children by Maximo and Loreto Abenojar. On January 14, 1970, she married Arturo Abenes. They had four daughters: Loida, Marites, Arcely, and Jocelyn. On February 19, 1983, the family first moved to Los Angeles, California, and later settled in San Diego, where Lolita soon gave birth to a long-awaited son: Arturo, Jr. Lolita was blessed with two grandchildren: Elan and Edrin.
On June 6, 2009, Lolita dedicated her life to our Creator Jehovah God by water baptism, and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her love and zeal for Jehovah were marked with boldness, readily witnessing to a group of people. Her pioneer spirit and joy for the ministry supported the group all day. She was always generous with gas money, and even bought lunch and snacks for her car group. She loved having friends over for lunch during field service day, especially for the young ones. Her passion for food and joy of cooking, particularly her secret recipe for "chicken adobo," will be sorely missed by friends and family.
Lolita's strong faith in Jehovah and the Bible’s wonderful hope of resurrection helped her to endure the battle with cancer. She looked forward to a time when there will be perfect health and everlasting life on paradise earth.
Lolita is survived by: her husband, Arturo; her daughters and sons-in-law Hank and Loida Davenport, Johnny and Tess Delgado, Erwin and Arcely Godoy, Andrew and Jocelyn Schwab; her son Arturo, Jr.; her grandsons Elan and Edrin Godoy; and her siblings Erlinda A. Jardinero, Nena A. Frigiliana, Renato Abenojar, Douglas Abenojar, Regalo Abenojar, Morgan Abenojar, Lina A. Chandler, and Susan A. Erum.
Lolita was dearly loved. There was a quiet yet strong presence about her. And, when she had something to say, she somehow always managed to fill the room with a sudden burst of laughter. She will be remembered by her positive spirit and cheerful personality…and most especially by her beautiful bright smile.
