Born on December 10, 1917 and passed away December 18, 2014 at the age of 97, Loreta outlived ten of her siblings, and was the last one to pass on. Her youngest sister, “Lucila” passed away in 2013.
She is survived by her daughters, Fe and Siony, her son-in-law, Emanuel, grandchildren, Brian and Sarah, and grandson-in-law, Kevin.
She became a widow at the age of 48 and decided to migrate to Olongapo City in 1967. Her house was open to everyone. She welcomed nephews, nieces, and grandchildren to her home with open arms and unconditional love. She was a second mom – “Nanay” to them. Amazingly, she outlived some of her closest nieces and nephews. Her generosity was a blessing to everyone. One of her biggest accomplishments in life was to see her daughters finish school.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, Brian and Sarah. The love and care she gave them were priceless.
Clothes, shoes, and jewelry were her passion. She looked forward to going dancing and meeting friends on Sundays at the Senior Citizen’s Hall. She traveled and went to different places, her favorite being trips to Las Vegas.
She underwent open-heart surgery at the age of 81 and survived an additional 16 years. As the years passed, her condition deteriorated slowly and her dementia became severe. Most of the time she was unable to remember names or recognize people. During the last seven months of her life, she survived eating only cereal and drinking Ensure.
She was a kind-hearted woman, great mom, great grandma, simple, and humble. With her strong faith in God, she lived a full life. That’s the legacy she left behind.
WE LOVE AND MISS YOU MOM
