I can’t believe it’s been 4years  today that Doctor Markel has been gone . He was our Doctor from 1987 to 20016 We loved his sense of humor My husband and him would talk about military my husband was retired military  there will never be no one like him .  My Prayers and thoughts go out to his  beautiful wife and Children 

My wife and I moved to San Diego three years ago. We each chose a physician. I chose Dr. Markel. after one visit, I was happy with my choice. My wife changed immediately.  What a wonderful man. We miss him so much as I'm sure his family does.  May God bless this family.

So many laughs.  So many good memories.  A good friend, doctor, and anesthesiologist.  You will be missed, buddy.  I can't think of our time and not break out laughing. GodSpeed, Scott.

Dr. Markel was the most compassionate and funny doctor I was lucky enough to meet. I loved hearing his stories and how he talked so wonderfully about his family and especially his wife...”the most beautiful woman in the world”. I loved his personality and his stories were so funny and interesting. I once told him he needed to be on the radio! I still can’t get over the shock and sadness of him not being here. You are sorely missed, Dr. Markel.

Dr. Merkel was recommended to my mom by a great doctor Dr.Meyer and that changed the way I felt about doctors offices never a long wait and I met a wonderful doctor with a big personality. One of a kind... last time we saw him he called me a angel we went back and forth me telling him he was. He had  saved my mom's life while she was in the hospital and never missed visiting with us daily never had i experienced this kind of personal care. i appreciated it so much . I think I enjoyed the appointments in his office as much as my mother. Always left there with a smile I will miss that

I met Dr Markel and got to know him personally while my daughter Brittney worked for him.  Dr Markel made a long lasting impact on her life.  He taught her so much!  I loved his sense of humor! I worked for Dr. Markel for nine wonderful years... He taught me so much and made a lasting impact on my life. He was truly an amazing, humble, brilliant Doctor and friend. I will miss his vibrant personality, endless stories, and kind heart. He meant so much to so many, including myself and my family. God Bless Dr. Markel and his entire family.

I met Dr.Markel 7 years ago when I relocated to Tijuana from Oxnard, Ca.  I was excited to meet my new Doctor and couldn’t have been more blessed with an amazing one! My grand daughter was with me at most of my visits and they just loved each other so much, he would say he was going to steal her! He was  1 year younger than me but had the spirit of a teenager. We are going to miss him so much, may he rest in peace.

I just learned of the passing of DR. Markel    I first meet him when I went to the ER in 1987 , He became our family doctor, Him and my husband would sit there and talk about Vietnam and the Persian golf my husband is retired military  . Dr Markel was a Great Doctor very Compassionate for his patients.Our condolences go out to his wife and family

My deepest condolences to the Markel family.  Doctor Markel was my Doctor for many many years. He was a proud decorated Purple Heart reception,proud of the fact that he is as he always said married to best lady in the world Mrs.Markel.  I want to thank the  Markel family for sharing Dr. Markel with the world of medicine and me.  He was one of a kind and I was blessed to have him as My Doctor and I am proud to say friends. Dr Markel was a man that truly walked in the way of our savior Jesus Christ in that he always displayed humility and compassion to all of his patients. His professionalism will be truly missed as well as his humor. He always had a story to tell.

Loved Loved Loved Dr. Louis Scott Markel. He made a difference to many in healthcare that you don't always see now these days. He loved life, laughter, and his family most of all. His story telling, jokes and smile we're endless.  Role model to many for sure. Gonna really miss you Scotty. Your one of the best. I worked with Dr. Markel at Sharp Chula Vista for many years. I remember when he went off to war. We would chat whenever I saw him as he was such a personable man. He wrote the most thorough history and physicals as he really knew his patients. My fellow nurses and I were shocked to hear he died. I just spoke with him a month or two ago asking when was he going to retire. He said that his office enjoyed their jobs and he was going to keep working for them. R.I.P. you were one of the best!

It is very hard to say "GOODBYE" to someone so Great, Good & Kind as Dr. Markel. You will be so missed by your patients and Military family! With a very sad and heavy heart, We say So Long Colonel. Condolences to your Wife, Daughter & Son.

Dr Markel was one of a kind. He got to know his patients and shared some amazing stories of his career as he treated you in his office. He was a kind man, a bit blustery at times, but I think it was a distraction to get you to relax and share what was really going on with your own health. He will be missed so very much!
