

Luis S. Caballero was born on January 1, 1939 in Peñeranda, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. He was the son of Dominador and Felicisima Caballero. Luis was raised in Peñeranda, Nueva Ecija, Philippines with five siblings. He had three brothers, Manuel, Numeriano, and Ricardo, and two sisters, Minda and Juliet.
Luis attended Papaya General High School and graduated in 1955. He later earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Far Eastern University in 1959.
Luis exchanged wedding vows with his former wife Alice Canciller on May 22, 1966 in Quezon City, Philippines. Fortunately, they were blessed with five children, one son, Gerry, and four daughters, Azella, Cherrie Lynn, Lilli, and Lucia. Another blessing for Luis was the gift of eight grandchildren, Jeffery, Justin, Camryn, Marc Anthony, Drew, Cristian, Caroline Grace, and Sarah Ann.
Showing a strong work ethic, Luis worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his careers. His primary occupations were in accounting and business. He was a successful business owner of various locations in both New Jersey and California for over 28 years. He also worked as an accountant for Bristol Meyers Corporation.
Later in life, Luis began a relationship with his new life partner Lucita Bracaglia. They were fortunate to have spent 20 happy years together.
Luis was a doer and was actively involved in community organizations. Throughout his later years, Luis was an active member of The Nueva Ecija Association where he served as President.
Sadly, Luis passed away on January 28, 2011 in San Diego, California of natural causes. He is survived by his partner Lucita Bracaglia; children Gerry Caballero, Azella Caballero- Alvarez, Cherrie Lynn Caballero, Lilli Caballero- Raif, Lucia Caballero- Young, Richard Malabey, and Ted Malabey; and his grandchildren Jeffery Lathrop, Justin Bolieiro, Camryn Alvarez, Marc Anthony Alvarez, Drew Alvarez, Cristian Alvarez, Caroline Grace Caballero and Sarah Ann Caballero. Services were held at the Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel on February 5, 2011. Luis was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Luis was a good and kind person who was a vital part of everyones lives. Luis leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Luis S. Caballero.
