

Manuel A. Gonzales was born in Manila Philippines on July 13, 1949. His parents were Conrado M. Gonzales and Isabel Martinez Apostol. Manuel is survived by his wife, Josefina and her two sons; Jason and Joseph, three children from his previous marriage; Madonna Lisa Chan, Manuel Jr. and Mark Gonzales, two grandchildren, eight nephews and two nieces. Manuel has six siblings; Reynaldo, Editha, Rebecca (deceased), Rodolfo, Antonio and Carmen (deceased).
Manuel came to the U.S. in March 1971. Had served 4 years in the US Navy as an electrician and served his remaining 16 years as a Navy reservist until his retirement from the Navy. He also worked at Long Beach Naval Shipyard as an Electronics Tech and at the same time he was installing alarm systems on the weekend. Manuel worked at Hughes Aircraft, which is now Raytheon as an Engineer. Eight years of his work at Raytheon was spent in Saudi Arabia as a consultant for the company in support of Operation Desert Shield in 1996. He came back from Saudi Arabia in 2003 and finally settled upon his retirement in Chula Vista.
His work ethic is what distinguished him from most of his peers. Aside from that, he had a nice personality. He loves to sing and also a good dancer.
Manny, as everyone calls him, was a devout catholic. He attended mass every Sunday. He made sure that his children went to catholic school as he did in his early years in P. I.
