Salvador, a ti me rindo, obedezco sólo a ti. Mi guiador, mi fortaleza, todo encuentro, oh Cristo, en ti.

Te confieza su delito mi contrito corazón. Oye, Cristo, mi plegaria; quiero en ti tener perdón.

Yo me rindo a ti, Yo me rindo a ti; mi flaqueza, mis pecados, todo rindo a ti.

When I came to San Diego in 1964 from Bolivia, I met Manuel Zambrana which I found out was the brother of my sister-in-law Marina. We became good friends and he showed me around San Diego taking me to the sites such as Balboa Park. We used to see each other about once a week and we had good times together. He was very generous and giving. Then he became family when he married by cousin Naty. What I remember of him is that we played soccer for a Bolivian team in the 70’s. He was my captain. We used to have good times after the games and we had great times in the soccer practices. From what I remember the most about him is that we formed a conjunto that was called Collas Andinos and we went to perform at the Bolivian Festival for Bolivian Anniversary in Los Angeles. It took us about 4 weeks to practice before we went there. We did a great performance and a lot of Bolivians were happy to see us perform. We also performed another year at a Bolivian Festival in Santee. I always remember that he was a hard worker and I really liked that he was very successful and prosperous. He was a good father to David his son. I am proud of how good David was with his father all these years. I went to visit Manuel 3 weeks ago and I had a long visit with him. We remembered all the good times and things we did. I really enjoyed the visit and he did as well and was happy to see me. He invited me back to visit him any time. I am very glad I made the decision to visit him that day. My wife Betty and I send our condolences to David and the Zambrana family for the loss of his father.

Visited my Tio Manuel about 2 weeks ago. His mind was sharp and he looked handsome. He told me stories of his good memories with my Dad and Abuelito when they arrived from Bolivia. He had a beautiful Bolivian blanket on his bed. We talked about life, relationships, etc. I admire my Tio Manuel for being such a hard worker and a successful businessman. It was beautiful to see what a close loving relationship he had with his son David. Those memories will live on forever. God Bless the Zambrana family.
