Maria Concepcion "Concha" Vega was born on November 16, 1941 in Autlán, Jalisco, México. She grew up in Tijuana, Baja California, México with her parents and siblings. As a young woman she worked sales at a clothing store and as a cashier at Mercado Limón.
In 1963, she met the love of her life, Abelardo "Lalo" Vega. They were united in Holy Matrimony on January 1, 1965.
By 1974, Lalo and Concha had moved their family permanently to San Diego, California. Concha was a devoted and loving mother to their 4 children Alma, Linda, Abelardo Jr and Luz Maria.
Concha was a faithful and active member of Monte Carmelo Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin and Dolores Mancilla; her husband, Abelardo Vega; her son, Abelardo Vega Jr.; her siblings, Norinda Mancilla, Luz Hernandez, Jose Mancilla and Victoria Erdodi. She is survived by her daughters Alma, Linda and Luz Maria; their husbands, Mark, Victor and Albert; her 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; her siblings Rosa, Clara, Dolores, Isabel, Salvador, Martha and Natividad; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whose lives she so lovingly touched. Concha's beautiful life will be forever cherished.
