

Maria Guadalupe Villegas was born on September 16, 1955 in Tijuana., She was raised in San Diego, California. Maria attended and graduated from Morse High School in 1973. In October 0f 1977 David Met Maria while working at Point Loma High School together.Thank You to Mr. Dennis Donley for introducing Maria to David.
Maria fell in love with her sweetheart David Guadalupe Villegas and the couple exchanged wedding vows on August 30, 1986. The wedding took place at Santa Sophia Catholic Church in Spring Valley, California. Having empathetic and loyal hearts, Maria and David shared many loving years of marriage.
Maria and David were blessed with two sons, Joseluis Villa and David Alexander. Maria worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs, raising her children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later in life, Maria was blessed with the joy of one granddaughter, Keilani Lelu Villa.
Maria enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Maria worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. She worked at San Diego National Bank for Loan Support Services for over ten years.
Maria enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including spending time with her family and going to “Smokey Robinson” and “Tower of Power” concerts. Her favorite way of relaxing was working in her rose garden.
Although Maria had fallen ill and was going thru treatment, she still worked and always made time to go serve lunch at the senior citizens home near her bank in downtown. She found much joy in helping others. Maria’s generous heart was one that was never left unnoticed.
After a valiant 11 year battle with Breast Cancer, Maria passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. She peacefully passed with no pain. Maria is survived by her husband David; their sons Joseluis and David Alexander. We knew she battled to stay with us but was tired. She told us to remember her in our heart not in our tears. The boys would like to Thank Dr. Charles Redfern and all the beautiful oncology nurses and staff at MOASD and to Dr. Geoffrey Weinstein for the long ride. Thank You to San Diego Hospice for their support helping the angels come get Maria and taking her home. David would like to Thank his second family at KGTV for their thoughts and prayers.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at The Little Chapel of the Roses at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Paradise Hills with interment following the service at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita.
