Marilyn June Dolmage
June 28, 1935 – April 21, 2021
Marilyn June Hart Dolmage was born on June 28, 1935 and returned to his Heavenly Home on April 21, 2021. Marilyn was born in Michigan. Her family moved to California before Marilyn was five years old. She spent most of her life in the South San Diego areas of Chula Vista, National City and Paradise Hills. She was a beautiful young woman who was full of life and love for her family and friends. Marilyn Graduated from Sweetwater High in 1953. After High School she worked as a Dental Assistant. Marilyn met her husband, Vern, while he was in the Navy, when they both attended a dance at All Saints Episcopal Church in the city of San Diego, CA. After a short courtship they married on Dec 2, 1955 at St Matthew’s Episcopal Church in National City CA. Marilyn continued to work in the Dental Office while her new husband fulfilled his commitment to the Navy. Vern was discharged from service, in Dec of 1956. The couple then moved to Victor IA to start a life as Farmers. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Katherine (Kathy), in 1957 they decided to return to California where Vern began to work as a Carpenter and Marilyn settled into a life of caring for her husband and children. In 1958 they welcomed a second daughter, Flora. The following year brought their third child, Frank, and a new home where Marilyn resided until her passing. Marilyn’s life was not free of difficulties and struggles but she always chose to focus on the positive in situations and people. She was extraordinarily kind, loving and forgiving. Marilyn was a shining example of many virtues to her children and all who knew her. She had a favorite mantra of “Patience, Faith and Reward” which she would share with her children when they struggled in their lives. To her loved ones, Marilyn was truly an Angel on earth and a fountain of unconditional love. Although we are feeling the sting of life without her, we are comforted as we think of her jubilation at long awaited reunions in heaven. She is survived by two daughters (Katherine Dolmage and Flora Dolmage), two grandchildren (Matthew Dolmage and Amber Dolmage McGinn), five Great-grandchildren (Jacob Dembowski, Gabriel Dembowski, Paige Dolmage, Lucy Dolmage and Lucas McGinn), and a sisters (Donna Hart Zimmerman). She was preceded in death by her Husband (Vern LeRoy Dolmage) , a son and daughter-in-law (Frank Joseph LeRoy Dolmage and Cindy Williams Dolmage), parents (Claude Lee Hart and Ethel Viola Day Hart) and two Brothers (Patrick Hart and Gerald Hart). The following Poem captures the essence of Marilyn

An angel lived among us, A gift from God above. She showered us with kindness And shared with us her love.
She cherished every moment With the man who was her life; Walking hand in hand together, Facing life with all its strife.
She loved her children dearly, Each one a different way, Nestled close within her heart. Though, now, she’s far away.
She’s gone to live with Jesus. But, she’s here with us, today, Smiling down on every one of us, And telling us she’s O.K.

My mom was such a blessing, she showed us love and compassion for others. The love of family and friends and God were her life. She will be missed but now enjoys eternity in heaven. My angel.

I do not have a middle name . But my Beautiful Aunt Marilyn had the most beautiful middle name . I believed in my 8 year old heart that I should share the middle name June with my Sweet Aunty.
( since we were both born in June I felt we had a closer connection than my siblings did with her) I made this a very real by ordering pencils that had "Beth June Shelby" printed on them. In my 8year old heart I just became Aunt Marilyn's favorite niece.
