He was born in Mariveles, Philippines, in 1960 to Clemente Salvador Cristobal and Eufemia Alegado Cristobal. He moved to Chicago, Illinois, when he was eight years old and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1978. From Chicago, he spent 3 years in Dallas, Texas, before settling in San Diego, California, in 1988. In San Diego, he worked for Crest Offset Printing and, later, helped manage his parents' boarding care and nursing home facilities.
Marlon loved music and could often be heard playing the piano, guitar, recorder, and harmonica. He also enjoyed bowling and darts, but his true passion was pool. He imparted much knowledge from these passions to his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as often as possible. He used every moment as a teaching opportunity. All who are blessed to have known him can say they learned something from him.
Marlon was preceded in death by his parents, Clemente S. and Eufemia, and is survived by his children, Brandon (Anahi Herrera) Cristobal, Jacquelyn (Justin) Woodworth, and his five grandchildren: Nathan, Gino, Jameson, Emilia, and Joshua. He is also survived by his siblings Marievel (Celerino) Jose, Clemente A. (Loida) Cristobal, Marilyn (Juan Carlos) Bosque, Mark (MaryAnn) Cristobal, and his nieces and nephews: Mariel, Serena, Ariane, Nina, Sophia, Cadence, Juan Carlos Jr., and Crystal.
The memorial service is Tuesday, October 28, at Glen Abbey Mortuary, and the funeral mass is Wednesday, October 29, at Holy Cross Chapel.
