

Mary Gay was born December 25th, Christmas Day, in 1934 in Seattle, WA to Homer Allan Davison and
Mary Evelyn (Hemgren) Davison.
Mary Gay attended Loma Portal Elementary, Francis Parker, and Point Loma High School, graduating in the class of 1953, where she was a proud “Pointer”. She then went on to graduate from the American Institute of Banking (AIB).
Mary Gay was a longtime devoted member of the General Federation of Women’s Club. She served on the Cal Fed of WC State Board as chair of the Women’s Hist and Res Center at the University of Cal Santa Cruz.
Mary Gay was President of the Claremont Women’s Club, San Diego District WC, as well as the Past President’s Association. She also served as chair of numerous departments and was involved in extensive volunteer work in the San Diego District WC throughout the years.
Mary Gay was preceded in her passing by: her parents, Homer and Mary Evelyn; maternal grandparents, Oscar and Mary Beatrice, and long-time love, Richard Allen Lockwood.
Family members left to cherish her memory include: Daughter, Diana “Lynn” Roberts (Linwood); Grandchildren: Joseph Bradford Roberts, Briana Lynn Wilcox, Anthony Edward Wilcox and Lynette Gloria Stewart (Roshaun); Great Grandchildren: Beckett, Emma, Aaliyah and Kailani; Sister: Mary “Susan” Bear (Steve); Nephews: John Bear (Patty) and Jason Bear.
The family will be holding a private service for Mary. In lieu of flowers, online donations may be made to Mary’s furry friends at Canine Companions (www.cci.org) in memory of Mary Gay Plant.
