Miss and love you Med.  Chancy is doing great with Mike, Iris and the boys.  He’s spoiled rotten.  He’s in good hands.  It’s so lonely without you here.  We all love and miss you so much.  You are always in our hearts  and minds every  minute of every single day.  Love and miss you so much.

Med, it’s  almost 3:00 am, I can’t sleep.  Happy belated birthday.  I miss you so much,  I never thought I would lose my little sister.  My heart  aches so much. Sweetheart Melanie, 

Sometimes I feel like life is so unfair. Why would pain and death happen to the sweetest gentle person I met while working at CIW. I remember her love for all the creatures that wandered into the prison, which told me so much about her. She was so friendly, patient and understanding. She was always trying to make our jobs easier and she was genuinely concerned when we had a problem. I love the cute phrases she would say, like okie dokie. When I retired in 2014, she had just transferred or was about to transfer to San Diego. I was happy for her but knew the prison would not be the same without her gentleness and love. My sincere condolences to her family and close friends for their enormous loss. I am glad I got to work with her, eventhough it was for a short time.

We enjoyed working with Melanie,  she was always upbeat and positive.   She was always willing to go out of her way to help everybody.

Granny Mel, We will forever miss you, you took care of Bruce for many many years. We will cherish the time we had together as a family going to lunch. You put up a good fight and we know you fought so hard. Jen still makes your chicken salad recipe and it will continue to be a staple in our home. My darling wife “Melanie” This has been such a terrible experience and I have been grieving everyday since the day you went to the hospital & especially the day you passed. I love you so much. A man like me has a lot to be thankful for. You came into my life and you have been my ROCK and had my back for everything in life that came our way. You would say “ I got your “6”. We had some wonderful times together going on our two cruises with Steve & Rhett & going to Oregon to see Mike & the kids. I will always treasure the two trips we made to Palm Desert.  I’m going to hate living in our home alone not having you by my side. I will miss your smile and your phrases “ okie doke” & okayke. May you Rest In Peace my Sweetie as you won’t have to deal with all that pain anymore. GOD has you now & I want you to wait for me & when it is my time we will be together again for eternity. We made a trip back to SD in October 2017. It was so wonderful to share our time with Melanie and she loved her grand babies. I’ll never forget her reaction to seeing all the animals and shortly after this trip they got a yearly pass at the zoo. We will always remember her warmth and love. We love you Mel.
