Mercedes Verde Martinez, 96, of Chula Vista, California passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at home. A Mass will take place on August 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at 2:30 pm.
Mercedes was a devoted homemaker who lovingly cared for her family and encouraged them in their endeavors. She believed in overcoming challenges and accomplishing goals. She was dedicated to serving and supporting her community with warmth and enthusiasm.
Mercedes was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo. She is survived by her daughter Margarite, her grandson, Glen and two great-grandchildren: Valeria and Sebastian, and her sister Socorro (Chata).
Mercedes will be remembered for her love of family, acts of kindness, unwavering integrity, wisdom and beautiful smile
