The perfectly imperfect husband, great father, best "Lolo" in the universe, Michael Paul Ostrander, 73, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, Tuesday at 3pm at Sharp Lakeview Home Hospice after a courageous battle of cancer. Mike was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on February 3, 1953 to JoAnn Donahoo and the Rev. Paul C. Ostrander.
He graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1971. He joined the United States Marine Corps from 1972-1975. Mike and his wife Mila migrated to the USA in 1977 with their first born son Donovan Michael. The following year 1978, their 2nd child was born, daughter Melissa Ann. Mike earned his degree in BS majors in Political Science and Philosophy at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK.
In 1979 he joined USMC again and was commissioned as a Supply Officer and had Honorable Discharge in 1982 as a First Lieutenant.
Mike joined the US Border Patrol in 4/22/85 and retired in 2010 with 25 years of service as Sr Patrol Agent. He was with the CIIT Team and BORTAC. He enjoyed very much and worked hard with the District Attorney's Office, FBI's and other great government law enforcement agencies. He was awarded a certificate in recognition of Thirty Years of Service in the Government of the United States of America in February 2009.
Mike loves: reading, books, animals, poetry and Asian arts and music too. He is kind, patient, caring and loving. His family and animals are his two biggest passions. Mike always shows his ability to see good and beauty on everything. A very smart "Lolo" that his grandkids named him the live walking Encyclopedia.
He is survived by his wife Mila, their two children Donovan and Melissa, grandchildren James, Francisco, and Amaya, younger sister Mary, and youngest brother Tracy.
His children meant the world to him. He is the Best Lolo which is his favorite role to his three "Apos" and always treasured his time with them. Oh, the animals, pet or stray ones, Mike had soft spot for our furry friends, treating each and everyone like the valuable family they were.
