Michelle, You inspire me to be true to myself.  You inspire me to listen and be patient.  You inspire me to be involved.

Everyone who's ever known Michelle has caught a glorious glimpse of God's love - welcoming, inviting, interested in you no matter what shortcomings you know you have - she just loves you. Her stay on earth was short but filled with  a life of love for not only her family but anyone who was touched even in a tangential way.

Michelle, you breathtakingly beautiful body, spirit, and soul have careened off of all our hearts and left sparkling memories that will never loose their vividness and vitality.

Your children will become wonderful adults with you and Mike as their foundation,  having witnessed firsthand selfless and committed love.

Pray for us, Michelle, and soon we will all be together again wrapped in the arms of our Savior where there are no more pain and tears.

My heart is broken but relieved that she is no longer in pain. Michelle fought hard and she didnt want anyone to worry about her, she never let her disease define her or control her life. She controlled it. Michelle is the definition of strength, courage and life! She lived her life more than alot of people have in the short 42 years she had with us, without worry, without judgement! She lived her life for her, for her children, for her husband, for her family and friends and for the God she served. 

From the day we met, she brought so much joy and excitement to my life, she introduced me to hip hop, to a world of dance, culture and love. She never once questioned my friendship even when time passed us by,  she knew I would do anything for her and vice versa. We were so young then, but our friendship grew into sisterhood and I will always love her and she will always be in my heart! 

Michelle loved you all and she prayed for everyone(literally)! Please continue to pray for her and her safe journey to God!

Make Space..

to face what lies ahead
to continue filling with love {for her} those untouched crevices in our hearts
for pain and grief as it is what we have to endure to reunite with healing
for time, our best friend who poignantly frequents
for what you cannot change but unwillingly accept because...closure.

Make space for the directionless ones who have no home {yet} - there IS enough space, SO MUCH SKY.

That space will birth strength and breed upon itself, transcending to her loved ones.

I still can’t wrap my head around the thought of Michelle no longer here (physically) with us. We were each others side kick growing up, and  pen pals (we would decorate our letters with sanrio stickers and included photos). She was someone I looked up to, literally and figuratively. We bonded about many things...music, travel, and food! We mostly bonded at the fact that we were both Virgos and have the same characteristics. I have always admired her sense of style and her dance moves that were always so fresh. 

She left an imprint on my heart. I’ll miss the way she scratches her nose and her infectious cute laugh. I’ll miss her beautiful smile. I’ll miss her corny jokes - “it’s easy like sunday morning.”

There’s been many times where we would be in sync. I would be driving thinking of her and at that moment she would either call or send me a text message saying, “thinking of you”.  She always knew, even from far away that I needed her. We shared intimate talks about life, love and even death. She was strong for me even when I couldn’t be. She never failed to tell me that she’s there for me, and always said I love you.  When we would talk, her words were genuine and when we would  hug I felt her comfort. 

She always made me feel like I was a part of her life. She always made me feel special.  I truly didn’t miss a beat in her life. I loved her and she loved me.  

She meant a lot to many, but to me she meant the world. 

Until we meet again my sweet and loving Shell. Thank you for always being by my side.  Thank you for being one of the most beautiful souls I have ever known. You made my life brighter because you were in it. 

I love you so much and I will forever miss you. Our memories will forever live in my heart. Rest in Paradise,  Michelle. 

We are still at a loss for words. Michelle was such an amazing woman. Anyone who came across her could feel how genuinely good she was. One of my fondest memories of her was at our wedding. Her daughter Keryn was our flower girl, and her son Lucas was stepping in for one of our ring bearers because that ring bearer needed to use the restroom! Michelle was giving them directions from her seat and our pastor stopped and saw her gesturing to them and asked if she was ok! Michelle said, “Oh no I’m ok!” And a thumbs up. She was such a great mother. I will miss you dearly, Michelle. Fly with the angels now.

We are so saddened by your departure but God only knows how much we love you and will continue to love you and your family.

You have thought us about patience, humbleness and love for life and for those that matter the most. We learned from you that most important thing is to be surrounded with positive energy and to enjoy life for how little or much we have of it. You've always been here for our family as a soccer mom and we can't tell you know much we will miss you. 

Your smile, that was something so special. It was always from the heart, when you smile, you smiled because you loved, you loved to see people, you love to see them achieve, you love to see what's positive and good in people. You loved and lived in every moment.  God knows best why your time came before all of us, but we all are heading back to Him. Our Creator.

To the ever stylish, ever changing, Long-to-short back to long black hair, straight white teethed, radiant smile, and absolute beautiful cousin (actually auntie) Michelle.  
Growing up, I remember Michelle as being a cute, petite girl.  Her and my sister Audrey would play while I would hang out with her brother Mike.  Michelle's parents would be so proud of her.  Every time I came to visit, auntie Malou would tell me the latest about Michelle, while uncle Pablo (Jun) would tell me the latest about exercise.  
One of the fondest memory I have was when we shared stories of attending the Lauryn Hill concert.  She took a lot of good pictures of her.  Michelle printed them out and sent it to me.  That was really sweet of her, especially knowing I was a big fan.  Our taste in music were one of the things we had in common.  
I also remember how she got into dancing, just like her brothers.  She was in a crew called Purple Haze.  I would hear stories from others that her group was well known in the San Diego area.  She was heavily into Bikram Yoga.  She even got her dad into it, which became a great father-daughter bonding.  
As years gone by, I haven't heard much of Michelle, except for the occasional updates from Audrey.  It was not until I heard the news about Michelle first having cancer that took a blow to my heart.  She fought cancer for 8 plus years.  
I admire her resilience and her courage.  It's mind blowing to think that life can really be that short.  And no matter how many times we've gone through it, it's never easy to say goodbye, especially to those you love.  But through my belief in God, I know that we will see Michelle again. 
Michelle, you lived a good life, fought a good fight, and left your legacy with those you love and who loves you.  There's no looking back, but forward to your eternal life.  Look after your family and give them solace that you will always be with them.  I love you auntie Michelle.  We all love you.

There are days when I'm in denial and think you are still only a phone call away. Other days, I am overcome with sadness at the reality that you are not. We are not broken by this loss. Instead, we are made stronger by all the memories we shared and the love you left behind. A love that Lucas and Keryn will always be surrounded by. We will all make sure of that.

Thank you for everything you have done for me and Kris growing up. Thank you for being the best Ninang and auntie to my kids. Thank you for showing us what strength and bravery truly means. I already miss you so much. Rest in love my beautiful angel.

For so many years, I watched you battle. But I’ll never forget one of our most recent times…

You could barely stand, but you walked. You could barely catch your breath, but you spoke to all of us. You were in so much pain, but you still smiled. You could barely get out of bed, but you endured a 3-hour drive, and stayed in an unfamiliar environment for 2 nights, just to be at my wedding. Ani and I will be forever grateful. You are the true definition of strength and I couldn’t be more proud to call you family. 

I’ll miss your laugh, horrible jokes, hearing you blow your nose in the morning and waking everyone up, and our cravings for cali burritos and mexican candy. 

I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for my family, especially me and my sister; Helping to raise us and being an absolute role model and inspiration to us. Heaven gained an angel. I love you, Michelle. I’ll forever miss you. Say hi to grandma and grandpa for me.

I've known Michael for almost 14 years now and during that time I've had the pleasure of meeting his lovely kids and Michelle a couple of times.  I've heard Michael talk about her, her interests, her taste in movies etc. many times over the years.  I know how devoted he's been to his family and how he's been taking care of her all this time.  And this comes as a shock to say the least.  My deepest condolences to the family.  I hope you find the strength to get through this.  May she rest in peace.

I am at such a loss for words. This was not an unexpected passing, but yet the heart can’t have prepared us for this pain. Anyone who crossed paths with 
Michelle always fell in love with her kindness. She was such a free spirited person, an amazing mom, a loving & caring wife, sister, daughter & auntie. She was a fighter. She fought breast cancer for 8 years & yet never let it label her. She didn’t tell people she was a breast cancer survivor nor did she let this horrible disease stop her from loving life.
I am honored to have been your sister. I am honored to have been able to care for you. I am honored you allowed us to go to your appointments & be a part of that intimate journey in your life.
I love you. I will forever miss you. You’ve left an imprint on us all. On me, my mom, my aunt, my sister, my friends, but especially on our kids & Pabs. They will always be reminded of how much Auntie Chelle loved them. There’s so much I’m going to miss. Your beautiful smile, your contagious laugh, your text messages asking for pictures of the kids  before your infusions. I’m going to miss Pablo telling you jokes to uplift you before every appointment. I’m going to miss your FaceTimes and nightly updates from Mikey & Pablo. I already miss all of this actually. 
You fought hard. You held on for so long. You didn’t want to let go. I don’t blame you. You were so brave throughout it all. You never complained. You never wanted anyone to pity you. You were so resilient to start this path at the young age of 34. You didn’t want to burden anyone. And you didn’t. It was only an honor to help care for you. And to hold your hand & tell you everything is going to be okay. We are going to be okay. I thank you for your courage, grace & inspiration. I thank you for the impact you had on us. I thank you for being you. We are heartbroken, but we thank you. We are mourning, but we will honor you. We love you in this temporary life & the hereafter. Thank you. You’re finally pain free. 

As we arrive to 7 days after Michelle’s passing, I realized that over the last few weeks, we had a lot of “Last” moments together. The last time you ate and drank (you loved Arizona’s Mucho Mango), the last time you told us your favorite color (which you changed every day), the last time you replied “I love you too”, the last time you asked me “squeeze my feet” (I wish I still could), the last time l held your hand and you held mine, the last birthday we celebrated and you told us you were 24 years old (we all agreed), the last time you told us “thank you” and “I’m sorry” (but we were the ones thankful and sorry), I asked you what you missed most and you replied “You” then smiled, that was the last time you were cheesy to me (😢), the last time I whispered in your ear and told you how much we loved you, how awesome Lucas and Keryn were, how amazing Mikey was, how you didn’t have to worry because our families were here to support them and how you were so fearless and strong through it all. The day before you passed Mikey took this last family photo of us. (I’m sorry I covered you with an emoji, but I figured a queen for a queen). The next day we were all together when you took your last breath. I swear that would be the last of our “last” moments, but 30 minutes later Mom called us back to the room to look at you and to our surprise, you were smiling. I haven’t seen your natural smile in a long time.  You finally looked like you were pain free.  That was your last smile.

We miss you, Ate Michelle,  thank you for showing us what ‘beautiful’ means. We were so blessed to be loved by you and pray your garden in Paradise is exactly as you have designed it. We promise to keep in touch when we visit, just as you had asked, so my boys can take up all the space on your green couch. Thank you for the sweet talks in your kitchen. Thank you for being  my team manager during my first season at a new soccer club. I couldn't have asked for a better person to make my transition easy. You were organized, enthusiastic, and you created a culture of unity for our team. It was one of the most memorable soccer seasons for me, mostly because of you and your efforts. Thank you for not just being my team manager, but also for being a friend that I could vent my frustrations to. Thank you for listening to me and I'm glad we were able to vent our problems to each other. Thank you for all the advice you gave me about raising kids. I will never ever forget what you told me "Make sure everytime your kid sees you, you always have a smile on your face." There are very few people you meet in this world with the positive energy that you had, but it is what you'll be remembered for the most. My wife and I will truly miss you Michelle. We are also praying for Mikey, Lucas and Keryn 🙏 May you rest in peace ❤️

Michelle was our team mom for our kids soccer, and we had the honor of knowing her for three years. You would have never known she was sick because she was unstoppable! Her love and dedication to be there for Lucas and our team does not go unrecognized, nor unappreciated. I strive to be as dedicated as she was, to have the strength she did to keep pushing through as she did every single time we saw her. May she rest in eternal peace, and my promise to you Michelle is to root for Lucas in every single game like I root for my Roman, “Momma loves you Lucas”, will be heard in the soccer fields on your behalf; I got you Michelle, Rest In Peace.
