December 6, 1940 – May 9, 2025
Age 84 | San Diego, California
Narciso R. Cruz, affectionately known as “Narcing,” passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, at the age of 84 in San Diego, California, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on December 6, 1940, to Luis Roxas Cruz and Maximina Ramos Cruz, Narcing was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and proud veteran. He is now reunited in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Modesta “Desty” Trinidad Cruz, who passed on February 22, 2024, and with his siblings: Luis “Loy” Cruz, Maximino “Max” Cruz, and Resurrecion “Rexy” Cruz-Morada.
Narcing proudly served in the United States Navy for 25 years, spending much of his career aboard the USS Blue Ridge. He retired honorably at Subic Bay Naval Base in the Philippines and later resettled in Cavite City. Eventually, he returned to San Diego—a place he would finally call home, close to the family he cherished.
He is survived by his children: Brandon, Jay, Kim, and Jhoana; and his grandchildren: Kristlee, Ryan, Gabe, Jaymielee, Jenikka, Kamea, Nate, Christian, Gio, Ammika, and Karlo.
Narcing was known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and passion for cooking. He loved preparing meals for family and friends—especially his famous steak, beef steak with onions, meatloaf, and prime rib. And of course, no gathering was complete without a bowl of his beloved peanuts—a small but unforgettable trademark of his hospitality.
Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the memories he leaves behind—ones we’ll carry forever. His legacy lives on in each of us, and we are so grateful for the time, love, and strength he gave.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Rest easy, Dad. We love you so much. We hope you and Ma are happy to be together again.
Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your love during this time. It means more than words can express.
