August 12, 1942– November 6, 2025
Our beloved Nora Remigio Bonifacio passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in the Philippines to Josefina Muñoz and Marcelino Remigio, Nora lived a life defined by devotion, sacrifice, and unconditional love. She grew up alongside her cherished siblings — Elmy, Rico, Gil, Luchie, and Elizabeth — each of whom she cared for deeply with a generous and selfless heart.
From a young age, Nora carried great responsibility, stepping into a nurturing role after the early passing of her parents. Her compassion and strength became the hallmarks of her life. She worked hard, studied diligently, and dedicated herself to supporting her family and extended family — a lifelong mission she fulfilled with grace and determination. Even in times of hardship, Nora’s love never wavered. When her mother fell ill, she tirelessly rushed to the hospital to care for her, embodying the same patience, tenderness, and quiet resilience that would define her throughout her years.
Nora completed her Bachelor's degree in Accounting, concentrating her studies in Banking and Finance. After marrying the love of her life and schoolmate, Arsenio D. Bonifacio, Jr., a proud U.S. Navy man, Nora began a new chapter that took her from the Philippines to Guam and eventually to California. As a Navy wife, she often spent long months raising their three children on her own while her husband served his country. Through every challenge, Nora remained steadfast and strong — balancing family, work, and faith with remarkable grace. She worked as a Data Processor at the bank for more than twenty years before retiring, only to return to serve at the San Diego County Jail, where she once again shared her skills, dedication, and compassion.
Nora’s love language was service — especially through her cooking. Every dish she made was infused with warmth and love, nourishing not only the body but the soul. Whether preparing family dinners or helping cater special occasions, her food reflected her care, creativity, and generosity. She carried her many responsibilities with humility, inspiring everyone around her with her endurance, her deep faith, and her signature “yardstick” of patience.
The love between Nora and Arsenio was profound — a partnership rooted in respect, laughter, and unwavering support. When Arsenio passed in 2022, Nora’s heart ached deeply, and she often spoke of her longing for the day they would be reunited.
Nora is survived by her siblings Gil, Luchie, and Elizabeth— three loving children —Arlene, Joy, and Jonar — and her beautiful grandchildren — Jaslyn, Jagger, and Jazette — who brought endless pride and joy to her life. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends who were blessed to know her kindness, generosity, and strength.
Nora was the heart of her family — our matriarch and the glue that held us together. Her radiant smile, comforting presence, and boundless patience brought light to every room she entered. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on — in our hearts, our gatherings, and the love we share with one another.
Her love is her legacy, and it will continue to guide and strengthen us for generations to come.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
