Pascual Poros Deomampo

Pascual Poros Deomampo, 88, of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on July 17, 2026.

Pascual was born on May 18, 1938, in the humble town of Balakilong, Laurel, Batangas, Philippines, to Anastacio and Andrea Deomampo. He was one of nine children and grew up surrounded by the love and support of his siblings.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Sonia; his beloved children, Evangeline, Juvilyn (Jonathan), and Richard (Jasmine); and his six cherished grandchildren, Isabella, Jessalyn, Gabriella, Daniel, Tryston, and Quinn. His family was the greatest joy of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

In July 1965, Pascual proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, beginning a distinguished military career. He was stationed in Monterey, California, in 1969 before transferring to San Diego in 1972. It was there that he and Sonia purchased their first home and built a lifetime of memories while raising their three children.

After 20 years of honorable service, Pascual retired from the U.S. Navy with the rank of Machine Repairman First Class (MR1), Petty Officer First Class (E-6). He was honorably discharged as a veteran due to a service-connected disability, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, integrity, and faithful service.

Retirement gave Pascual the opportunity to enjoy the many hobbies that brought him happiness. He and Sonia loved spending time fishing at the Imperial Beach Pier, creating countless treasured memories together. Pascual also had a remarkable green thumb and took great pride in tending his garden, where he grew an abundance of fruits and vegetables. One of his greatest joys was sharing the harvest with family, friends, and neighbors, reflecting his generous and giving spirit.

A true automobile enthusiast, Pascual had a special passion for restoring and caring for his beloved Ford Mustangs. Whether driving his 1965 red convertible Mustang or his prized 1968 California Special Edition Mustang, he and Sonia could often be seen cruising together, turning heads wherever they went.

Pascual also enjoyed visiting local casinos, where he could often be found happily playing the slot machines with his treasured golden Buddha by his side. He valued the friendships he shared during his "barkada" gatherings with the McBuddies and the Jack-in-the-Box crew, whose laughter and companionship enriched his life.

Above all else, family was the center of Pascual's life. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud, doting grandfather. His kindness and generosity extended far beyond his immediate family. He warmly opened his home to relatives immigrating from the Philippines, helping them establish new lives in the United States and offering guidance, encouragement, and support whenever it was needed. His quiet acts of generosity and selflessness touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.

Pascual was one of God's greatest blessings to all who knew him. While his passing leaves an irreplaceable void, we find comfort in knowing that his strength, compassion, generosity, unwavering faith, and enduring love continue to live on through the lives he touched. We are profoundly grateful to God for the gift of the many wonderful years we shared with him. Though we grieve his absence, we rejoice in knowing he is now at peace, embraced by God's eternal love. His legacy of love, service, humility, and devotion to family will continue to inspire generations to come.

A visitation for Pascual will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary. A committal service will immediately follow from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary.
