Never did I think "that" Friday Sept 28th would be the last time i'd see you.  When paramedics were taking you from work on the stretcher and you giving me your cheesy smile, never did I imagine it would be the last.  Saturday morning when I got the text message I could not believe what that message said.  All I have to say is that I will miss our rendezvous at work, driving to Fallbrook and you falling asleep on the wheel (lol) your evil laugh that cracked me up, your silly jokes and movie quotes, the cousin stories that were entertaining,   I won't be yelling "Bye Paul see you tomorrow" from across our building at the end of our day.  Working with you this whole year side by side was an honor my dear friend.  Thank you for the lessons, the fights (now these were fun) because of our different views, your trust  - so much that I can go on and on.  I will for always keep you near my heart - you will forever be my gentle giant.

A week ago , my good friend Paul and I talked for 2 and a half hours about our 30 year friendship.  We talked about our activism during our days in SDSU and our families and things we would never dare to share with anyone about our innermost struggles.  My friend Paul had told me how our 30 year friendship would carry on until our golden years or hasta que fueramos viejitos. He shared how much he loved his wife and child, lauro.,  He wanted to meet the very next day, which is when he passed. I had a prior commitment and promised to meet him the following week. Unfortunately that meeting will never be. I confided in my friend and supported him 100% during our long friendship . He was never judgemental and had a wonderful sense of humor. I will miss that about my friend. I find joy that at least I have his family to fall back on and return the love, hope and assurance that my friend gave to me for 30 years. He will always be in my heart. I will never forget you, warrior angel. Rest in peace my friend. God bless his family. We will never forget you Paul.
