

She was born in the Philippines on February 2, 1941. Puring lived a long and challenging life. She was resilient in the face of immense heartbreak, loss, and turmoil, and did her best to raise her four sons and family members. Despite everything she went through, Puring remained kindhearted and loving to her family and community. She sacrificed her time and effort . She was heavily involved in her grandchildren’s upbringing and helped raise them.
Before coming to the United States, Puring was a High School English Teacher. Her commitment to her faith and to education strengthened after living in the United States.
Puring was a devoted mother, working tirelessly in different capacities, and jobs, to support her friends and family. Most of her employment took place at the former Naval Training Center, working as an administrative assistant under different commands and departments. She also worked as a school assistant, and in a variety of retail positions sacrificing, and working diligently so that she could support her family.
Puring was deeply religious, evident by her lifelong service to the Church of Saint Michael’s Parish. She contributed her time as a Eucharistic Minister, Catechism Teacher, and Confirmation teacher. She enjoyed serving the church and delivering the eucharist to those who were not able to attend church in person. She also loved attending church events. Her support and service to the church extended outside of San Diego as she supported her hometown church in Mabini Pangasinan, donating funds toward the church’s renovation, and sponsoring fundraisers and dances and other events.
A viewing will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park on July 6th, 2026, from 5:00-9:00 PM. A funeral mass will take place at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church on July 7th, 2026, at 10:00 AM, with the burial service following after mass at Holy Cross Cemetery.
