We honor the life of our father, Rafael, who lived in extraordinary 94 years, driven by a courageous dream to create a better life for himself and his family in the United States. I deeply admire his determination, as well as my moms, to venture into a country where they didn't speak the language, and yet, they persevered. I know that God placed compassionate people in their path to guide them through their journey, helping them overcome numerous challenges. From humble beginnings picking lemons and lettuce, walking miles to save a quarter from milk from my brothers, doing whatever it took to provide for us, to catching the train to the Canadian border in search of work, he remains steadfast, always looking ahead, never losing sight of his goals. He selflessly coached my brother's Little League baseball team, took us on memorable trips to the beach and park, and instilled in us the importance of hard work and achieving Their dreams. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own business, La Nena Restaurant, which became a thriving success, thanks to the tireless efforts of both my parents.
He was able to travel, explore new horizons, and experience the fruits of his labor.
My father's quirky sense of humor and occasional strictness. And unique way of showing affection only attitudes remarkable character. Today, we choose to celebrate the incredible life he lived rather than mourn his passing. He lived life to the fullest, and his legacy will continue to inspire us. Having reached a remarkable age of 94, he earned his wings on November 10th. At 7:12 PM, reuniting with our mother in Heaven.
