

Blue Angels Flight Surgeon and Senior Medical Officer of the old Naval Training Center, San Diego, passed away January 19, 2015. He was 84.
Ramon Alagbate Yaldua, fondly known as “Doc” or ”Dr. Ray”, was a man who lived life to the fullest. He was born on November 9, 1930 to Jose Yaldua and Concepcion Alagbate in Manila, Philippines. He was a medical graduate from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines
.
Dr. Yaldua interned in the United States at hospitals in Des Moines, Iowa; and completed his surgical residency in Wichita, Kansas, with a specialty in plastic surgery. Over the next 40 years, Dr. Ray practiced medicine internationally in communities in the Philippines, Canada and the United States.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 6-1/2 years as an Air Warfare Research Officer at bases throughout California. Dr. Ray was also the flight surgeon for the Blue Angels at NAF El Centro. He also served as a Senior Medical Officer at the old Naval Training Center at Midway Drive, San Diego, California.
After the military, in 1984, he returned to private practice in Chula Vista, California and Maui, Hawaii. He retired in San Diego in 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Divine Webb Yaldua and her cousin, Flory Bautista; five children from former marriages – Mark Yaldua, Jodi Wagner, Ramon Yaldua Jr., Cynthia Huntley, and their half-sister Connie Williams; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Viewing and visitation will be available 5pm-9pm, Wednesday and Thursday, January 28-29, 2015 at the Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary. The memorial service will be held at 10am, Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Chapel of Roses in the Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary with fellowship following the service.
