

Remedios was born on June 29, 1936 in Philippines. She was the daughter of Pedro and Alejandra Elguira. Remedios grew up in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan and was raised with eight siblings, Corring, Julie, Naty, Norma, Tito, Alica, Albert and Letti. Remedios was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings and they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Remedios had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Urbiztondo High School in 1952. She went on to earn her license in Mid-Wifery Labor and Delivery in 1954 at the Manila Children's Hospital. Remedios would deliver thousands of babies in Iligan City in the Philippines.
On April 14, 1961 Remedios exchanged wedding vows with Melanio Arambulo Macatantan in the Philippines. Remedios and Melanio were blessed with two children, Cyndi and Darryl. Empathic and loyal, Remedios was committed to making her new family happy. Another blessing for Remedios later in life was the gift of four grandchildren, Dante, Derek, David and Danielle.
Fortunately, Remedios enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Remedios worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was in Health Care as a unit secretary. She was employed for 35 years at Paradise Valley Hospital doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Remedios enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were Majong and Veijas. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Remedios passed away on January 10, 2012 at Scripps Hospital in Chula Vista, California. The cause of death was due to Heart Failure/Hypotensive. She is survived by her husband Melanio A. Macatantan, her daughter Cyndie E. Oranies and her son Darryl J. Macatantan. Services were held at The Little Lodge and the Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel in Bonita, California. Remedios was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary.
