

Adelaida and the oldest of 10 children. As a young child, the dining table was the gathering place for the
family. His mom loved to cook and he loved to eat! In 1965, Reynaldo joined the US Navy for which he
proudly served for over 30 years. He reached the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer and was very proud
of this accomplishment . In 1971, he met and married Dolores Estrera. Reynaldo’s career with the Navy
took him to Pensacola, Florida, Guam and Subic Bay, Philippines. The opportunity with the Navy allowed
him to support his family, bring his siblings to the United States, and take care of their tuition for school.
In 1975, they permanently moved to San Diego, California. Reynaldo was involved with the Maragondon
Association and was president from 1992 to 1994. Reynaldo retired from the Navy in 1995 and savored
the retired life. You could find him spending time at the local casino, tending to his chickens on the
farm, or spoiling his beloved grandchildren. Reynaldo is survived by his loving wife Dolores, his two
sons, Michael and Jeremy, and 6 grandchildren: Noah, Hannah, Kalista, Kailani, Micah, and Eli.
