Dear Family of Rhoda Spencer.  I was so sorry to hear of Rhoda's passing, but was so glad to have spent the weekend with her at the LSI Conference. A letter to my loving sister, Rhoda:
Dear Rhoda
when you left this life so unexpected, I felt it very hard to contain myself, We had such a good relationship on the phone, sometimes two to three times a week. Of course with me in a convalecent home made it very easy to get in touch with you. We always finished our calls with "Love You". Many years have gone by from "pip-squeak to baby brother.
I will miss you that's for sure, but I can't help being happy for you, because I know you are with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. (my eyes are welling up--you know "us hawaiians" we cry when we're glad, sad & mad)!
One thing for sure, you will always be loved and remembered by the Sacramento Franks Clan!

I first met Rhoda in 1992 at the LSI Annual Conference and have been privileged to call her my friend ever since.   I will always remember her for her quiet dignity and friendliness to everyone. I shared a room with her and Kay at the LSI Conference last weekend and we had a great time.  On Sunday morning after the  post-governors' meeting she gave me a big hug and made me promise to let her know the next time I would be coming to San  Diego so we could do lunch.  She will be greatly missed.

I am deeply saddened by this news of Rhoda. I am so fortunate and proud to have known such a kind, warm and loving person. Rhoda was there for me through some challenging times during my term as President of SDLSA and beyond.  I am one of a few that was able to enjoy spending time with her this past weekend. On behalf of the San Diego Legal Secretaries Association, we were stunned to hear the news about Rhoda, having just spent the weekend with her at LSI's Annual Conference. Rhoda attended numerous local association meetings and we are proud that she was a long-time member and Past President of SDLSA (1969-1971).  As we comprehend this profound loss, let us cry knowing each tear is a note of love rising to the heavens.  Everything in this life has purpose...there are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from.

My sympathies to all of Rhoda's family.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I met Rhoda at my very first LSI conference in 1986.  She was kind enough to offer me a ride to Mass on Sunday morning.  I am so thankful that we were able to spend the last few days of Rhoda's life with her at the Bahia Resort.  She excitedly told us about the arrival soon of her 12th great-grandchild, and was very relaxed and happy to be with her LSI friends.  Little did we know when we said goodbye that it would be our final parting.  God love you, Rhoda.  I will always have fond memories of your beautiful spirit and love of your family and LSI.

My deepest condolences to the family of Rhoda Spencer.  I met Rhoda in 1980 and from the very beginning she  treated me with warmth and kindness, as she treated everyone.  She was a gracious and beautiful soul and she will be greatly missed.  I am so happy that we past LSI presidents had an opportunity to see her this weekend and spend quality time with her.  She will be greatly missed.

My friend Rhoda maybe gone, but her memory will be cherished always.  She was such a delightful person, and very much loved. I am so grateful I was able to share laughs and stories with her this past weekend. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

Dear Family of Rhoda Spencer,  I had the pleasure of speaking with Rhoda on Saturday at our LSI Conference and she paid me such a nice compliment - I felt very honored. 

Although I did not know her for years and years like some others, I deeply respected and admired her.  She was a very gracious woman.

Her words of encouragement always kept me going.  I will sorely miss her as I am sure you will too.  She was a wonderful lady.
