Bobby Estrada passed away June 16, 2020 while surrounded by family and friends.
He was married to Jeannie Lanz Estrada for 49 years. Bobby was also survived by his daughters, Dolores Cardenas, and Robie Rodicio. His sons, Bobby Estrada, Jr., Anthony Estrada, Mario Estrada, and Alex Estrada, as well as a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bobby was born in San Diego on September 4, 1942. He attended San Diego High School. He grew up in Logan Heights and was a member of the Logan Heights Historical Society as well as the Los Lobos Social Club. He was the one person to keep his friends close, and would organize monthly meetings. Bobby loved his friends he grew up with.
Bobby raised his two girls and four boys with Jeannie and made sure they were always happy. Raising four boys, he made sure they kept busy and coached them in baseball and football as well as his older grandsons. Friends of the boys would always say they will never forget Mr. Estrada, he was a role model and an old school coach. Bobby was well known in Lemon Grove, and was part of the Lemon Grove Little League organization for many years. After coaching, you would often see him in his pressed white t-shirt at the baseball field watching his boys’ coach, and his grandchildren play baseball and softball. People that he coached, and touched in life, often called him the God Father of Lemon Grove.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020, 5-7pm at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary in Bonita, CA, main chapel. ***Face Masks are required***
