OBITUARY

Rodolfo Sibug De Guzman

October 17, 1955October 5, 2021

Rodolfo “Amber” De Guzman passed away unexpectedly on October 05, 2021 at the age of 65 in California due to a ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. We are devastated by this loss and completely unprepared.

Amber was born in Manila, Philippines, to Adoracion and Manuel De Guzman on October 17, 1955. He graduated from Perfecto High School and aspired to be Seafarer. He moved to San Diego, CA in 1998 with his family for a brighter future.

Amber is survived by his former wife/ friend Ma. Luisa De Guzman, mother of his 3 sons Owen, Luigi and Loy& his only daughter Lorie. His children were his great pride and joy. He left behind his 5 amazing grandchildren whom he loved so dearly: Kokai, Liam, Gabe, Dylan, and Lucas. Amber was also a devoted and loving partner/soulmate to Maria “Winnie” Bartolome whom he traveled, danced, and spent the rest of his fulfilled life with, and a fun doggy dad to Bubbles.

He was a great son, brother, uncle, father, and giving grandfather to his own, and siblings' grandkids. He was remembered as the grandpa who always gave prizes to all the kids for singing and dancing. He would always have food "to go" ready for everyone to take home after family gatherings. He loved to cook and celebrate his family members' birthdays. He was very thoughtful and cared deeply about his family. Besides spending quality time with his family and friends Amber was passionate about music, playing guitar, traveling, gatherings, and helping other people. His generosity extended to people that were close to him, as well as people he barely knew but in need. His wits, sense of humor and wildly entertaining stories helped brighten people’s sad days. He always told people to reward themselves at least once a year with things they love such as traveling for life can be hard and full of stress. That people should try to live each day to its fullest for tomorrow is not promised. He was a very active member and devotee of Nazarene Prayer Group & Jesus of Nazarene & Santo Nino. His presence is sorely missed and his loss is deeply felt by his family, friends, and the community he served.

We mourn the loss of our father and encourage all who knew him to remember the light he brought to other people’s lives and to this world. The 1st viewing will be held at Glenn Abbey (Chapel of Roses) on Oct. 25, 2021, from 6 pm-10 pm. 2nd viewing followed by service will be held at Glenn Abbey (Chapel of Roses) on Oct. 28, 2021, from 10 am-2 pm.

Motto: Once in a year you have to reward yourself such as travelling cause the life in US is stressful and live life to the fullest. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
