Roman Galivo Flores Jr.

Roman Galivo Flores Jr., 36, tragically passed away on March 23, 2024 while on vacation in Bali, Indonesia. He was born on November 26, 1987 in San Diego, California. He was the youngest son of Roman and Victoria Flores, beloved brother to Patrick Flores, and beloved brother to Jessica Medina.

Roman was known by many names - Roman, Rome, JR, Junior, Romie Rome, G, Gamble - but no matter what name you knew him by, you knew he had the biggest heart. He was genuine and real, and if he knew you, he kept in touch with you somehow, someway, encouraging you to embrace the positive and to be grateful for the life you were given. He would constantly reach out to family and friends, near and far, checking in on them, telling them he loved them and sending them positive messages.

Some of his favorite things included spending quality time with his family and friends, working out, playing basketball, collecting sneakers, and enjoying life as much as he could. His work as an Operations Lead allowed him to travel to many places in the United States such as Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Nevada, and New Orleans. He enjoyed seeing the world and had recently visited Hawaii, Bali, and had plans to visit the Philippines. He loved the Lakers, especially Kobe Bryant and adopted a Mamba Mentality. He set goals for himself, maintained a commitment to hard work, and focused on becoming the best version of himself every single day.

We will truly miss his zest for life, positive energy, infectious laughter, and bright smile. He is survived by his father, Roman Flores, mother, Victoria Flores, brother, Patrick Flores, sister, Jessica Medina, nephews, Andres and Cody Medina, nieces, Lily and Zoey Medina, nieces, Maliya and Kianna Flores, brother-in-law, Ronald Medina, sister-in-law, Kimberly Flores, and loving fiancé, Dorie May Rafael.

A 1st visitation for Roman will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Glen Abbey Mortuary's Magnolia Room, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California 91902. A 2nd visitation will occur Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California 91902. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 450 Corral Canyon Road, San Diego, California 91902. A committal service will occur Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California 91902.
