Rosalina Mendivil Trinidad

Rosalina Mendivil Trinidad, nacida en Chihuahua, México, en 1940, falleció el viernes 20 de marzo de 2026, rodeada de numerosos familiares y amigos, en la comodidad de su hogar —donde residió durante 56 años— en Chula Vista, California. Le sobrevive su hermana mayor, Rosario Mendivil, de 95 años de edad. También le sobreviven sus hijos: Sergio Salazar, y Alex, Bernard y Richard Trinidad; dos hijastros: Eugenio Trinidad III y Albert Trinidad; así como sus amados familiares: Hilda Castro (sobrina), Carmella Gutierrez (sobrina), Giovanni Salomon (sobrino), Rogelio y Angelica Ligon (sobrino nieto y su esposa), y Gloria Chavero (sobrina). Fue, además, una abuela sumamente amorosa y generosa para sus ocho nietos sobrevivientes: Erica Trinidad, Armando, Brianna y Sarah Salazar, Richard Jr. Trinidad, y Joshua, Kaila y Noah Trinidad. Sus sobrinos nietos —quienes también llamaban "Abuela" a Rosa— son Cesar, Angel y Betty Gutierrez. También la extrañarán sus nueras —Joyce Staley Salazar, Veronica Trinidad —, junto con sus hijos caninos, Minnie y Chispita, y su nieto perruno, Floyd.

Rosa, quien ejerció como una matriarca de guía gentil para una familia muy extensa y amorosa, compartió su sabiduría, su amor y su alegría con muchas otras personas —familiares y amigos—, cuyo número es demasiado grande para enumerarlos aquí, pero que no son menos importantes en su historia.

Al ascender al cielo, Rosa se regocijará al reencontrarse con sus seres queridos que la precedieron en este viaje: Eugenio Trinidad, su esposo durante 41 años; Lourdes Maria Trinidad, su dulce hija; y Joseph Trinidad, su amado hijo fallecido. Sin duda, también se unirá a sus amados padres —Guadalupe Mendivil y Encarnación Gutierrez— y a sus otros siete hermanos —Emidio, Arnulfo, Natalio, Mario, José María, Guadalupe y Aurelia— en un grandioso y glorioso reencuentro.

Cuando apenas era una bebé, la familia de Rosa se mudó de Chihuahua a Culiacán, Sinaloa; allí asistió a la escuela y a la iglesia, conoció a su primer esposo y tuvo a sus dos primeros hijos: Sergio y Lourdes. En 1962, dejó Culiacán y se trasladó a Tijuana junto con sus dos hijos pequeños con el fin de brindarles mejores oportunidades. Fue allí donde conoció a Eugenio Trinidad. Él también era padre soltero de dos hijos —ambos varones— y servía en la Marina de los Estados Unidos. Se enamoraron y se casaron en 1966. Tuvieron una casa en la zona de La Mesa, en Tijuana, durante varios años.

En 1970, «Rosa» y «Trini» trasladaron a su creciente familia a la casa que habían comprado en Chula Vista, California, donde sumaron cuatro hijos más a la alegría familiar. A pesar de tener una familia en expansión —y de ayudar también a cuidar a otros parientes como si fueran los suyos propios—, Rosa era una persona sumamente motivada y emprendedora, ¡además de una cocinera excepcional! Durante varios años, a principios de la década de 1980, fue copropietaria y administradora de un restaurante mexicano llamado «México Lindo», situado en Broadway Street, en Chula Vista.

Entre 1996 y 2015, Rosa trabajó con gran éxito para una empresa de ventas, asistiendo a capacitaciones y conferencias de desarrollo de equipos. Más adelante, Rosa se convirtió en una consejera espiritual y de vida autodidacta. Muchas personas acudían a ella en busca de orientación para afrontar momentos difíciles y tomar decisiones complicadas.

Cada persona a la que tocó su vida se verá enriquecida por haber recibido sus dones de amor incondicional y sabiduría, y atesorará esos tesoros en su vida y en su corazón para siempre.

Rosalina Mendivil Trinidad, born in Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1940, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 in the comfort of her home of 56 years in Chula Vista, California and was surrounded by many family and friends. She is survived by her oldest sibling, 95 years old Rosario Mendivil. She is also survived by her sons, Sergio Salazar, Alex, Bernard and Richard Trinidad, two stepsons, Eugenio Trinidad III and Albert Trinidad as well as beloved family members; Rogelio and Angelica Ligon (great nephew and his wife), Hilda Castro,(niece), Carmella Gutierrez(niece) , Giovanni Salomon (nephew), Rogelio and Angelica Ligon (great nephew and his wife), and Gloria Chavero(niece). She was also the most loving and generous grandmother to eight surviving grandchildren, Erica Trinidad, Armando, Brianna and Sarah Salazar, Richard Trinidad Jr. and Joshua, Kaila, and Noah Trinidad. Grand nieces and nephews who also called Rosa “grandmother" are Cesar, Angel and Betty Gutierrez. She will also be missed by her daughter-in-laws, Joyce Staley Salazar, Veronica Trinidad and along with her canine children, Minnie and Chispita and her grand-dog Floyd.

Rosa, who has been a gently guiding matriarch to a very large, loving family, shared wisdom, love and laughter with many others, family and friends too numerous to list, but are no less important in her story.

As Rosa ascends to heaven she will rejoice to see her dear ones that preceded her in this journey; Eugenio Trinidad, her husband of 41 years, Lourdes Maria Trinidad, her sweet daughter and Joseph Trinidad, her dear departed son. She is sure to also be joined by her beloved parents, Guadelupe Mendivil and Encarnacion Gutierrez and her seven other siblings, Emidio, Arnulfo, Natalio, Mario, Jose Maria, Guadalupe, and Aurelia in a grand and glorious reunion.

When she was just a baby, Rosa’s family moved from Chihuahua to Culiacan, Sinaloa where she attended school and church, met her first husband and had her first two children, Sergio and Lourdes. In 1962, she left Culiacan and moved to Tijuana with her two small children to provide them with better opportunities. There she met Eugenio Trinidad. He also was a single parent of two children, both boys, and was serving in the United States Navy. They fell in love and married in 1966. They had a house in the La Mesa area of Tijuana for several years.

In 1970 “Rosa” and “Trini” moved their growing family to the house they bought in Chula Vista, California where they added four more sons to the family fun. Even with a growing family and also helping to care for other family members as if they were her own, Rosa was a very motivated and enterprising person, and a great cook! For several years, in the early 1980’s she co-owned and operated a Mexican restaurant called “Mexico Lindo” on Broadway Street in Chula Vista.

From 1996 to 2015 Rosa was successfully working with a sales company and attending training and team building conferences. Later, Rosa became a self-taught spiritual and life counselor. She was sought out by many to guide them through tough times and difficult decisions.

Each person that she touched, will be enriched for having received her gifts of unconditional love and wisdom and will carry those treasures in their lives and hearts forever.

Visitation will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, Magnolia Room, on April 8, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902, US, on April 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
